This long-established chain has devised a successful formula which serves them well whatever the location, and there are now over 40 across Europe.. Like Browns, they artfully manage to be all things to all people bar none. The feel is continental contemporary without being overly trendy or intimidating which is how the original female owners conceived it. The neutral colour tones, wooden flooring, wooden tables and comfy sofas are relaxing and the high domed ceilings and large windows of this former bank in the city's commercial district add to the feel. The food and drink is of a consistently high quality without setting the world alight. It' safe and dependable, with the likes of rib-eye steaks, burgers - the house speciality coriander & beef is good - and ham, egg and chips plus a good tapas range.

We stopped here for a quick lunch a few weeks ago, atmosphere was nice and the food was quite good. Our visit last night couldn't have been more different.
The 'world tapas' menu is realy not very exciting and has little on it that sparks interest. The lamb kotfas were dry, insipid and not warm enough, the accompanying dip was overly sour and not very pleasant.
The duck quesadillas were a real disappointment as they had been none of the more interesting dishes on the tapas menu. Although the outside was nicely crispy, the meat inside could have been anything. The brown overly salty sludge certainly didn't taste like duck and the hoi sin dipping sauce had the consitency of tar.
The fishcakes were not to my taste, apparently made from salmon and haddock they had a very strong 'fishy' flavour and little of trace of salmon. The pineapple chutney was an interesting accompaniment and had a slight chilli hit, this helped mask the overly fishy and smoked flavours of the fishcakes.
Overall food was pretty awful, ambience wasn't great either with music playing so loud it was practically impossible to talk. Wouldn't visit again.

From the outside, this place looks pretty nice and is open till 3am, so nice to have somewhere to eat after a couple of drinks. The decor is nice and a seperate seating area for a drink after.
This is the second time I have eaten here, and the first time was horribly yuck food, but as me and a friend were desperate for some sit down food at such a late time..... all bar one it was.
The guy who served us was ok, friendly enough, took our order and we weren't waiting long till we got our food.
I was right the first time!! We both had steak chips and onion rings which came with salad and mushrooms. For a start, i love mushrooms, but couldn't eat them as they were from a can, yuck. The steak was ok, but pretty cheap quality, the chips were just like from a chip shop and the salad wasn't too bad. onion rings were nice though. my friend couldn't eat most of hers as the grease made her feel quite unwell.
I noticed while we were eating the guys in the kitchen were watching us eat which was really uncomfortable and a hovering waiter looking for something to do was really off putting.
when we got the bill we were gob smacked!!! well lets just say we won't be paying that much money for dog food again!!
Please don't go here unless you want to pay too much money for less than fun of the mill food!!!

I've been here twice now, once with my friend after a shopping expedition, had a fishy sandwich which wasnt that great, but returned to give it a 2nd chance with my partner and had the best steak I have ever tasted, perfectly cooked and presented!
The bar is trendy with nice high tables and comby seating.
They do a great range of beers and ciders and are good prices!
