Amore's Italian restaurant is located in the quiet village of Beeston, Nottingham, specialising in the highest quality authentic Italian cuisine, all prepared and cooked by an expert Italian Chef.
It's worth a little travelling to find this place, as you can really taste the difference – all the ingredients used are fresh and sourced locally or direct from Italy. The à la carte menu provides great choice at excellent value, and features daily "Italia Speciales", including vegetarian dishes.
There are some delicious fresh salads for a light meal, some tasty risottos and meat dishes, and an excellent selection of pizzas, such as the Verdure, with roasted vegetables, garlic and herbs, or the Pescatore, with seafood and ground black pepper. And of course, there are plenty of pasta dishes, from rich carbonara with smoked bacon and Parmesan cheese, to salmone, with tender salmon pieces, asparagus spears, and a hint of tomato.
There is also a large selection of wines, beers and non-alcoholic beverages, plus a superb range of teas and coffees available to complement your meal.
The restaurant is fully air-conditioned to maintain your comfort at all times, and it is able to cater for everyday occasions as well as special events.

Dinner & Cabaret

Cabaret night at Amore’s this month featured the talented Mr CJ Jackson with his tribute to Soul & Motown.
I made sure of an early arrival to secure a good seat in this popular restaurant who have recently introduced these specialised weekday cabaret nights at the end of each month.
This night it was the turn of CJ Jackson from Leicester to entertain the diners. I was looking forward to seeing this guy as like a good meal he has all the ingredients to be a great performer. CJ has performed with many great artistes over the years including a stint with The Drifters, so I was especially looking forward to his Drifters set of songs.
As diners began to order food and drinks my dinner date and I hungrily eyed up the menu of delicious dishes on offer. My guest went for
Pollo Formaggio,
Tender breast of chicken, shallow fried with onions, bacon & white wine. Finished in a delicate dolcelatte cheese sauce served on a bed of spinach.
Meanwhile I went for
Pollo Alla Cacciatora
Succulent chicken breast coated with mushrooms and shallots, a hint of red wine and fresh garlic in a pomodoro sauce topped with fresh basil.
To accompany our selection we both went traditional Italian with pasta tossed in butter.
Whilst we sipped on our Perroni (well more like gulped) CJ began his first set of layed back lounge classics so as not to infringe on the merry buzz of chatter amongst the diners.
Food now on our table we were delighted by the presentation of both dishes and the aroma drifting upwards and teasing our taste buds…. There is something just so sexy about Italian food that just makes you drool with ecstasy. The taste did more than justice to the look and I was amazed by the sumptuous sauce that made my mouth tingle with joy as it joined with the chicken in taste explosion.
CJ was by now winding up the momentum and moving into his Drifters set which soon had a number of diners off their seats and onto the dance floor.
To complete our eating experience the dessert menu awaited and my guest went for Soufflè al Cioccolato A unique chocolate soufflè with a liquid centre
Whilst I went for
Tiramisù con Savoiardi
Soft sponge base with a layer of mascarpone cream,
decorated with coffee soaked finger biscuits
Talk about heaven on a plate, I actually took a picture of these desserts, as they looked even better than the ones on the menu, each with large dollops of fresh cream topped with strawberries. We soon gladly demolished each plate of its generous contents.
Meanwhile CJ was into his Motown set and all the diners were getting into the evenings, dining, wining and cabaret experience.
Can’t wait till the next one with an Italian theme featuring singing sensation Phill Voss on Wednesday 27th October which is followed by a Christmas special on Wednesday 1st December with the welcome return of Carlo Paul Santana.

Very disappointed

We have visited Amore a few times and found it to be satisfactory however we were very disappointed by our visit last night. The food was very poor and the service was atrocious. The waiting staff were extremely unfriendly, didn't smile and not remotely warm with their manner, they obviously found it an effort to speak to us to take our order let alone to be personable. I think what I found most offensive however was when our meals were brought to our table they were dumped unceremoniously onto the person at the end of the table and we were expected to pass them down ot the end of the table, reminded me of being at school dinners. To add to this the waiter didn't even say would you mind passing this down we were expected just to get on with it without a 'please or a thank you' and the reason was nothing to do with a lack of space just they coulnd't be bothered to individually cator for us. We had gone for a celebration for my wife's birthday and we paid a good price for a poor meal and service. We certainly won't be returning again.
