What we say

One of the newest restaurants on Park Street, Antix provides efficient and friendly service and great entertainment for those wanting more than just a good meal.

The new kitchen provides a range of Greek, Spanish and Italian dishes with tapas for those wanting nibbles to accompany their quality wines and Champagne. Try the mixed platter when you're out with friends – the variety and freshness make it a superb dish to share.

Traditional dishes from Cyprus, as well as authentic pastas and tortillas, sit alongside steaks and fresh fish. There is also a specials board which is changed weekly, so there is always something new to try.

After your meal why not relax in the leather loungers and enjoy a cocktail whilst listening to live music every Wednesday or the resident DJ every other night from 10pm onwards.

Antix is certainly a top venue to eat, drink and dance the night away.

I am a frequent visitor to Antix and have never had any problems so decided to book a meal for my sister's hen night for 10 people.

To begin with, things were going well although we were not too impressed when the food came out.

The steak was stone cold and covered in pepper to the point it could not be eaten. The chicken burger was pink and therefore undercooked and could not be eaten. The waiter didn't come round and ask if things were ok so 2 of our party ended up leaving their food.

The cocktails were a bit hit and miss - we ordered 2 jugs of sex on the beach and one tasted as if it had no alcohol in at all. I then decided to watch when the next lot of cocktails were made and witnessed fewer shots being added than should have been.

We were also only given 1 free bottle of house wine when we should have had 5 due to the size of the party. However the wine was foul so we did not mind this so much.

When the bill arrived, I politely queried the steak and burger and pointed out the cocktail issue. The duty manager (Laz's son) and head waiter proceeded to literally shout at me to the point I was almost in tears. He accused me of trying to blag a free meal even though I pointed out both the meals were sent back hardly touched. It got so bad other guests stopped eating their meals to stare at what was happening. In the end, he refused to believe there was anything wrong with the food but as a "goodwill gesture" (after shouting at me and making me cry) he knocked £10 off the bill meaning we still paid just inder £300 for the experience.

I used to visit Antix regularly and know the family who own it quite well so am ashamed of what happened. I will never be returning and would never recommend this place again. I will also be writing to the owners to advise the way their son treats his guests
