What we say

Cardiff Bay may not be Istanbul but there is certainly an element of Eastern Promise as you sit in this fabulously picturesque restaurant, which sits out over the bay on its own little pier and stilts. As a result of its unique location, this restaurant is a favourite with diners looking for a little bit of magic, whether it’s with your beloved, family and friends or the boss!

Book ahead for a window seat with superb views across the bay as you wine and dine, and even better, during the long summer evenings, you can dine outside the restaurant at the small number of alfresco tables.

But it’s not just the great setting which offers an enchanting experience. As the name suggests, this is a Turkish restaurant and an authentic one at that. For anyone thinking Turkish food starts and ends with kebabs – think again! Experienced Chefs prepare a dazzling range of exotic dishes which offer up an array of food and fresh herb combinations.

Start with rich creamy hummus, cacik - a yoghurt-base dip with cucumber and fresh mint, or perhaps yaprak sarma - stuffed vine leaves, just three from a great range of hot and cold starters.

Leave room for the beautifully spiced lamb and chicken kebabs, or try adana kofte - minced lamb prepared with chillies, onions and herbs or chump of lamb – fillet of lamb marinated in red wine and orange sauce, served with red wine sauce and pan-fried vegetables. There is also a selection of casseroles, a good choice for vegetarians, and an excellent range of seafood specials.

Waiters of Turkish origin give you a quality of service that might have been offered to the Sultan at the Tekke Palace. This place truly is a Turkish delight!

Went to Bosphorous with my wife during an evening away in the Bay and found the experience very pleasant. Staff were welcoming and courteous. Food was sensibly priced. Starters (we had Cicak and Humus/Lamb) were a generous size but my main (seafood kebabs) was a bit on the small side - in fact the menu offered two kebabs but I received one. Two courses each came to about £40's and a bottle of House Red was horribly priced at £13.50. For a bottle of such tat should really have paid a few quid more for something labelled. Altogether though very enjoyable shame that the sun went down so early limiting any Bayside views.

I had an excellent meal at the Bosphorous Restaurant yesterday with an Ex-workmate and his Mother. We all had Soup for starters & I had the Salmon with Vegatables for Main Couurse. The Salmon had been cooked really well and had a great taste. The desert was a Rice Pudding, which in my estimation is a Tour d'force desert. The Staff were very friendly and we were allowed to sit anywhere we liked. If you want a fine meal in an Excellent position in the Bay, the Bosphorus is an Excellent choice.

had Sunday lunch here with my mother and ex work mate. I found the food so good, why can't other places in Cardiff have this kind of quality and services. The staff are welcoming and very knowledgeable. I had a lamb Kofte as my main meal I can only say it is life changing. truly a 5 star gastronomic experience.

I have visited this restaurant twice. Although our first experience about a year ago was quite good, my most recent visit was disastrous. We were shown to our table promptly, then waited for menus which didn't arrive. No order taken for drinks. After ten minutes I got up and asked for menus. 20 minutes later, menus still in front of us & no drinks order taken. So far we have been in this restaurant at least 30 minutes with nothing happening. Two tables away, a group of 4 people who had arrived before us also had menus in front of them, so goodness know how long they had been waiting. With no sign of being served we got up and left. Don't think any staff noticed!! Won't be rushing back. Very disappointed.

We went here after enjoying a great day out in Cardiff Bay and whilst the food was fantastic there were only a couple of tables being used but we had to wait quite a while for our food. I would tell people to go as long as they have the time to sit back and just enjoy.
