Founded in 1978 by the Papa of the family, this family-run chain of multi-award inning authentic Italian restaurants extends from Bristol across the South West. The 250-seat Emerson Green branch is the flagship of the collection and is run by a son of the founder. In addition to the restaurant there is a bar area and a mezzanine bar which is popular with parties. Prices are reasonable and the service is relaxed and friendly. Only the freshest ingredients are used and the pasta is specially imported from Italy. The menu is extensive, including fish, chicken and meat as well as the traditional pizzas (massive by the way) and pasta; there are plenty of vegetarian options, all just like Papa used to make.

Shocking food and service

Food was cold , waiter was rude as he expected my disabled son to clear his own plate. Wrote a letter to manager as Emersons green and we were sent a poultry £20 in vouchers to cover 6 meals costing £70 . Better service in Pizza hut !

Recently hed my daughters wedding reception here. From the very first enquiry the management and staff were very helpful, making suggestions about seating arrangements , menu etc, On the day they were helpful and polite without being overbearing. the food was served promptly ( without feeling rushed) and was plentiful. I am 56 years of age and being a bit grumpy on times, tend not to give praise willingly but on this occasion it is well deserved. If anyone has a similar event to hold I can only suggest that they consider Bottelino`s Emmersons green Bristol. It worked for us

Really Real Disappointed

the food was poor (way too much salt on everything, overcooked minestrone, burnt chicken, overcooked fried mozarella, packaged ravioli etc etc - that said the steak was good!) and the service was terrible - our waitress was just rude and bossy and not helpful at all - we had to keep waving our arms for ages. i am 46 and i have complained at a restaurant just a couple of times over an adult lifetime of visiting restaurants, but after eating at this one i felt compelled to let the manage know how bad the service and food was as we left. we chose this place due to the recommendations on this website which are generally spot on. either they were having a really bad long day or we were sitting at th e'lemon table'

I love this place, and i return time and time again. the decor and atmosphere is really nice and ........ classy, its is very italian with a relaxed modern feel which can sometimes be lively, but in a good way, lots of happy people having a good time.
You are greated with a warm and friendly welcome, and if you need to wait for a table, there is a really nice little bar area till your table is free.
The menu is great, very italian with good variety and attention to detail. your food comes at a resonable time (remembering that most nights they can be quite busy) and lots of helpfull attentive staff on hand if you need anything extra, drinks ect.
The food is authentic and tastes great with pleanty for your money, you won't be dissapointed!
You are never rushed from your table, and you can even call in an order that you can take away with you and still the same great service and quality. For all of this, I feel it is very reasonably priced to. Give it a go, i'm sure you will go back!!

I regurlarly visit this restaurant mainly meeting friends for lunch. The lunchtime deal is great value for money. The place is light airey and always spotlessly clean, there is a nice bar area while you wait for your table. The staff are jovial and attentive, my daughter went in a large group celebrating her sixteenth birthday and was presented with an ice cream that had candles in it. The food is served in large portion sizes and is always prepared to a high standard.

I do like this place - the concentric glass house architecture is interesting. We've dined here a few times now. I've tried the Veggie Lasagne and a couple of different Pizzas - the food has always been spot on.

I've been here a few times over the years, went in today after a break of 2 yrs or so and food is still great. I've only had pasta dishes as I am not a pizza fan so can only rate the pasta and it's really delicious! Lunch is only £4.50 mid week for any pasta or pizza, bargain! It's very popular and family friendly, give it a go! ( I hear the pizzas are excellent too )
