Owner Gordon Lee has enjoyed great support since opening Confucius Chinese Restaurant in a quiet Chichester location in 1993. This converted cottage has a very comfortable interior with a bar and two dining areas, with seats covered in dark green velvet, matching green linen, sparkling glasses and ornamental Chinese wall decorations.
The long menu puts the emphasis on Cantonese, Peking and Szechuan cuisine, offering all the favourite dishes that have made this such a popular place for a relaxing meal served by friendly, efficient staff. The main menu runs to some 150 dishes, supplemented by set menus for two or more and a short non-Chinese section. The house specials, the choice of many customers for a spectacular start to a meal, are deep-fried crispy aromatic duck and barbecued Peking duck, both available in quarter, half or full duck servings.
Gordon Lee also owns the Boathouse Brasserie at Houghton Bridge, near Amberley.
