What we say

Daiquiris is a real change from the standard Mexican chains you may know. The hard-working husband-and-wife team who run the restaurant, and have done for more than seven years, have achieved the perfect balance of quality and quantity.

The food is excellent, easily as good as the fine-dining fare sold in this restaurant's previous incarnation, but without the pretension. A warm, homely atmosphere is created through clever use of bright colours, ambient lighting, as well as a well-thought-out floor plan, which allows for both intimacy and bonhomie.

The menu boasts a superb paella, bursting with chicken, chorizo, prawns and bacon, plus burritos, a choice of 12 different burgers, salads and myriad cocktails, all of which keeps many regulars coming back for some Mexican sizzle.

A fabulous little restaurant in Cathays that's always vibrant and fun. The food here is just amazing and at incredibly low prices. For just a few pound you get a huge portion of paella or a great Burritto with a fab cocktail. I visit this restaurant regularly as it just can't be beaten in Cardiff for value and quality. Highly recommended.

Daiquiri's is amazing. for pennies, you get enormous helpings of ridiculously delicious food. As a student, its one of the only places I can afford, and the great thing is that its better than many of the more expensive places in Cardiff.

Added to that, the ambience is great - even though its a small restaurant, there's an area for a long table to be set up for social dinners etc - while there's still tables for two dotted around for a more romantic evening.

You order at the bar, but I don't think this is a problem, just gets rid of having to wait around for a waiter.

Just a short review, but really you've got to go yourself. It's worth it.

Having eaten at this so called restaraunt i was disgusted at the state of the food. The disgracfull attitude of the staff, the bad food and the appearance of a nail in my food, forced me to walk out with shame. The true iceing on cake for this night was the appearance of a mouse which truly made me believe that the restaraunt is one meal away from closure.

A true disgrace to fast food.

I've been here four times since I've been a student, and each time it's been amazing!

This time my girlfriend and I had:

Onion ring tower: ~£4 which came with about 17 onion rings!!! and three deep dips. Really hot and tasty.

2 x chicken burritos. Tasty, fresh veg, succulent chicken, plentiful cheese topped with sour cream and a jalepeno.

and a pitcher of some sort of rum&fruit;juice cocktail.

We spent £30 for two of us and have come home a little bit tipsy and bursting at the seams! I know that sounds a lot compared to the people above but we were deliberately being extravagent! The onion rings were the most expensive starter and we could have easily got cheaper drinks. We met a friend on the way to the restaurant and ended up there at 5 to 9 (they shut orders at 9) yet the staff were friendly and accomadating!

The only things I would watch, as said above, is that you book ahead at weekends and that you arrive before nine!

Wow,such great food is served here. Have eaten here countless times. The food is brought to you sizziling on the plate and the service is good.

Can recomend beef tostadas, chimmichanga and tacos. Managed to get two meals and two beverages for £16 in total!.

The restaurant is fairly small and you may need to book ahead if visiting on a Saturday.
