What started out as a very simple, low-key concept on Bedminster's North St is rapidly burgeoning into a multi million pound concept chain run by three of Bristol's most experienced restaurateurs. The Lounge Group recipe for success is to convert suburban high street retail units into community-based eateries, fairly basic in look and design, all shabby chic and second hand wooden furniture where they provide decent, populist food that is a notch or two above standard pub grub. And all pitched at very reasonable prices, generally under a tenner. The burgers, paninis, ciabattas, salads and breakfasts are good and further interest is held by the daily specials like char-grilled swordfish. The food comes with an in-house bar, wines and eminently quaffable beers.

The Deco outlet is a bit bigger and more elaborate in its design than some of the other branches, being a former Latin American restaurant, and is home to a mix of students and young professionals. The interior is dark but always lively.
