Delmonico is a calm and sophisticated culinary surprise. Artfully combining a café bar and restaurant with metropolitan American styling, a New England twist and clever lighting, you have a relaxed and private atmosphere with the added luxury of ample personal space.
The food at Delmonico is exquisite, each generous dish cooked to perfection. Starters are priced from £5.55, main courses from £12.95 and desserts are all £5.50. The café bar serves tapas, antipasto platters and oven and grill dishes from £4. No service fees, bread charges, or hire fees for the private function room are an added bonus.
The restaurant menu is predominantly modern British, drawing on traditional and western European dishes for inspiration and offering local produce such as Smiles beer and Somerset Applewood Smoked Cheddar.
Vegetarians have excellent choice with feta cheese, roasted sweet potato and beetroot salad with coriander creating a sensational starter. For meat-eaters, a main course that comes highly recommended is belly pork marinated in garlic, lemon and olive oil while for dessert, the appeal of the homemade pineapple and malibu ice cream is universal.
There is a fine choice of wines, an impressive range of cocktails, beers and Champagnes, and an unusually large selection of non-alcoholic drinks.
Delmonico offers an elegant yet comfortable and friendly dining experience.

Another local to me when living on Gloucester road, however I never found it that great.
Had heard and read lots about it, but when I actually went It was very dissapointing.
The menu choice was interesting, if not a little boring, the food was alright, some dishes nice and some others very poor, especially for the price, for what you get it is very over priced!
The standard is just above average, nice surroundings, very classic, but when we visited it was extremley quite, and this was friday night!
With all the choice in and around bristol I would not be running back to Delmonicos, Bistro la Barrique, robins hood retreat or Greens dining room are far superior options on Gloucester Road!

I visited Delmonico with my wife and friends. The food selection was fantastic and when it arrived it was not disappointing.
Presentation was good, portion size was good too.
They were very busy but still managed to wait on the tables effectively and attentively.
I would recommend this restaurant.

The food as always was excellent the service good and the waiter/waitress not overbearing or intrusive. I have eaten here on many occasions over the last few years and have always had excellent food and service, the portions are good and the menu varied, suitable for all ages although I personally wouldn't take young children here as you may find it difficult to find dishes suitable. My teenagers and young adult children love it as do my parents. I would definately recommend it. The soup was full of flavour and the tuna steak just right, not overcooked as some are, the creme brulee gorgeous I would have liked there to be more of the dessert tho as I have a sweet tooth.

Birthday Meal at Delmonico
Rating - Overall: 5 Food: 5 Service: 4 Ambience: 5

Booked out the private dining room for 14 of us at Delmonico'a. We ordered some reasonably priced red and white wine, but it was all very good.
The starters were delicious - everyone enjoyed them.
The main courses were even better - I had a risotto and it was very tasty. People with the steak were raving that it was the best they had tasted for a long time.
The desserts (which we struggled to find room for) were also very good.
The ambience was nice, and it made the birthday meal special to be upstairs away from the madding crowd. The service was very good - but we are feeling gulity as I think somewhat worse for wear (after the wines and coffee with rum) we may not have tipped very well - so I promise we will tip better next time.

Visited with a large group. It would have been nice to have been seated altogether. Service was excellent. The pate starter was a strange taste and would have benefited from more than 3 of the smallest pieces of toast I have ever seen. The white choclate cheesecake was very nice. I thought it was expensive for £25.

I have eaten here on numerous occasion & I have never been disappointed with the food, service, or drinks, it is my favourite restaurant.
The cocktails are very good & reasonable priced.
A varied menu with the food cooked to perfection, just the right quantities and at reasonable prices.
The staff are attentive but not over bearing, the restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere & the upstairs dining room can be booked for private functions at no extra cost which provides a area if in a larger group.
The wine cellar is well stocked & the staff are knowledgeable on it's content.
Well worth a visit.
