Great Meze

Tierd after a day's gardening (finally finished) we decided to celebrate with a meal out. Brains not up to choosing, a Meze seemed the logical choice so, searched for Greek / Turkish Restaurants on the web - luckily we found Ezo. Small, busy and warm with friendly but discreet service it was just what we hoped for in terms of atmosphere. The food was excellent - hot and cold starter disch with fresh hot flat bread tickled the tastebuds and luckily we had worked up sufficient appatite to enjoy char grilled lamb cuts, lamb chop, chicken brest, minced lamb and vegetables. Just enough room for turkish desert platters - very fresh and sweet served with canned whipped cream (our ONLY mild critacism - a little double cream would have been better).
Cost was extreamly reasonable particularly given the quality of the meat served - wonderfuly tender and succulent.
We will definitely be back

What a find! Perfect for an impulsive meal out - on the way back from work or with friends.
The service was wonderful, not too fast, not too slow and timed so that you didn't feel hurried. We had the set meze dinner at £17.95 for 3 courses and was so full of delicious food. We topped it off with the Turkish wine - a cracking bottle of wine, and very moreish.
Even though the only table free was by the loo, it was infrequently used and was also next to the grill, so we could see what delights were sizzling away!!
A great place; lovely interior; not shabby and we're coming back with a group of friends next month.

Worth a visit

Ezo is a Turkish restaurant on Gloucester Road with a small outdoor seating area and an intimate indoor dining room. Although a little on the shabby side, the dining area is comfortable and decorated with Turkish art and throws. The kitchen is open with a charcoal grill at the front, the distinctive smell of which hits you as you walk in. This open kitchen is one of the good points of this restaurant as you can watch the chefs prepare your food. Traditional music adds to the eastern atmosphere and isn't intrusive at all. We visited for Sunday lunch. We were seated quickly and the staff were friendly and happy to discuss the food. The Turkish pizza, a traditional Turkish dish made with feta, and a new offering from the restaurant was excellent. We watched the chef make this from scratch, making the dough, chopping the ingredients and the freshness really was noticeable in the end result. My only minor complaint would be the dish was very slightly overcooked and there should have been a little more meat. Unfortunately, only one Turkish beer was available, it would have been better if a larger selction of authentic beers were available. Ezo is very good value for money and really is worth a visit if you are in the area. The Turkish Delight at the end of the meal is almost worth a visit itself.

We had the set mezze lunch which was very tasty and excellent value. Service was friendly and the outside tables are a prime spot to sit and watch the hustle and bustle of the Gloucester Rd whilst relaxing with a nice cool beer
