Fishers Seafood Restaurant has firmly established itself as part of the Clifton Village furniture, serving a wide variety of fresh fish and shellfish in a bustling friendly atmosphere. Although many restaurants now serve a larger proportion of fish on their menus, it is sometimes difficult to make sure that the fish are from a plentiful supply. Because Fishers is dedicated to serving only fish and shellfish, it actively supports sustainable fisheries so you can be sure that what you’re eating is not threatening the ocean.
This is consistently excellent food prepared using imaginative ingredients and techniques to create the daily changing menu. Although much of the fish is internationally sourced (including shark, sea bass, swordfish barracuda and Canadian lobster) Fishers still features English favourites from the Cornish coast such as scallops, lemon sole, skate and Dover sole.
If you’re after a quick supper, you can’t beat the amazing Early Diner Deal – £5 for a main course from a selected menu. So tuck into their traditional haddock fish and chips in beer batter with mushy peas and gherkins, a big bowl of steaming mussels from the River Fowey, Scottish salmon fishcakes with lemon butter sauce or Fishers kedgeree with natural smoked haddock and prawns to name but a few.
Fishers has seen a lunchtime explosion since the launch of their £7.50 two-course menu – available seven days a week – and a loyal following of regular customers has meant that securing a table isn’t always that easy.
There will always be a selection of shellfish on the menu to satisfy all cravings for oysters, mussels, lobsters, prawns, scallops; or have the works on a famous Fishers Platter.
Well worth a visit!

Booked a table last minute, and despite the fact we were late the staff were very accommodating. Quick drinks service, starters took a while to arrive but were worth the wait. Before our starters arrived we were moved - there were three of us but they'd sat us at a table for four and then needed it. They served us a round of drinks on the house "for our inconvenience", but we really weren't worried about it! Starters of scallops were beautiful. Mains of kedgeree and whole bream also delicious. Didn't have dessert so couldn't comment, but a one of our table indulged in the sticky toffee pudding and it looked really good - decent sized portion, excellent value for money. Good coffee.
Overall - lovely ambience, really excellent service, good value food worth going back for. Three starters, three mains, bottle of wine, two beers, one dessert, three coffees - £100.

Delicious food, particularly the battered king prawns, giving a traditional dish a twist!
Excellent wines by the glass and a buzzing atmosphere on a Saturday night.
Fairly good value for money. I would definitely recommend it for a romantic dinner or a meal with friends!

Not what we expected!

A group of 4 of us dined here on a Thursday night and it was overpriced to say the least. The portions were small and expensive and all the main courses we chose needed sides in addition.
The service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere welcoming. Unfortunately the meal did not meet expectations and neither did the price! We did expect a lot more from Mich Tonks, but like most of these celebrity chef restaurants, the chefs rairly have much to do with what goes on in the kitchen. Lets hope it will improve.

Only ever been on a lunchtime & it's always busy; last time had to sit upstairs away from all the action but that's what you get for not booking I suppose.
Set lunch is a reasonable £8 odd (including a drink) but portions a little on the small side if you are very hungry, still it's a nice & cheap way to try it out. The smoked salmon pasta is gorgeous - it only features on the set menu but they are happy to do it as a main. Whitebait starter is lovely too. Quality of ingredients is very good & I don't think it's overpriced, especially considering where it is. Nice vibe to it, I really must try it out on an evening.

3rd visit to this seafood heaven and this time we went all out for the shellfish platter for 2 £18 per person and it was amazing. A tower of Scalliops, Langostines, Huge Prawns, Mussles, Clams, All washed down with a lovely bottle of wine.
This place can't be beaten for seafood, it's just plain and simple good food with service to match.

Good for an evening meal - not going to break the bank, not too pretentious, they just get on with it. Service was a bit slow though.

Really good. We went mainly because of our Invitation card (25% off total bill). But it's great. Food is brilliant - I had fresh tuna, my husband had fish cakes. The wine is also great. We had a bottle of Macabeo - which is like a white Rioja.

We went to Fishers for my birthday. The food tasted delicious at the time and the service was efficient and friendly. However I was ill that night which I believe was due to the food at the restaurant. Although I contacted the restaurant and was assured that the manager would get back to me, I have heard nothing since which is a huge disappointment and spoilt an otherwise enjoyable evening.

After reading glowing reviews for Fishers in various places I had high expectations of my meal here...but was sadly underwhelmed. Perhaps I just prefer a higher level of sophistication coming out of the kitchen, but I can't say that much stood out for praise. It was a pleasant enough meal and, yes, I'm sure the fish was fresh, but I'd say it was somewhat overpriced.
Perhaps I just made unlucky menu choices...I think I'll have to go again and give Fishers another chance...

What a lovely place and what a good find!
I felt like a kid in a sweetshop when i first sat down to look at the menu! I wanted to have everything as they all sounded so good! The staff were really helpful in helping us to choose what to have too (you know, some places just try to push the most expensive thing!!).
Food was amazing and fresh (though i thought the prawns were a little bit overcooked!)...great fish just cooked simply (and the platter for 2 was huge - more than enough for 2 ppl), the olives we had were great and the bread was nice and soft!

Been here a couple of times lovely food very simple but there should be nothing complicated about a good fresh fish, they let the food speak for itself and serve most things very simply with a sauce and a few new potatoes.
My only critisim is that it can be a little over priced and the dining room upstairs could be better but thats my opinion i know lot's of people like it for what it is!

We come here every few months and food and service is consistently good. Eating out on a Monday night was made more tempting with our Invitation card. Following a quick glass or two on the sunny deck at the Avon Gorge Hotel, we made our way to Fishers. For a Monday evening, this cosy little restaurant was quite busy with a good atmosphere. We chose the scallops to start followed by shark steak with a Thai red curry sauce - yum!! Service as always was quick and friendly.

Despite a bustling atmosphere on busy days, there's a tranquility at Fishers that you'd think was only possible far out at sea. Nothing seems hurried; just the ebb and flow of good food and good service.
I always wait for a friend to choose the battered cod and chips in the hope that they'll be stuffed and leave some for me. I'll then opt for some whitebait or a crab salad, perhaps a lemon sole -far more delicate than its plumper, uglier cousin from Dover.
There's a good range of very cold white wines and soft reds but last time I went, they also had some bottles of Speckled Hen, a perfect partner to any fish and chip supper.
