What we say

Originating in "Little Italy" in Brooklyn, New York City, Frankie and Benny's now have over 100 restaurants in the UK. The chain offers standard décor, a mixture of booth and open-table seating, open kitchen, a bar stacked with bottles, walls decorated with black and white photos in family album-style, as well as a standard menu. They say it's cooking like "momma used to make" but does have all the hallmarks of chain restaurant food. The huge list of dishes is divided into broad types, pizzas, steaks, pastas, sandwiches etc and an all inclusive children's menu as well. Extremely family-friendly, the constant chatter is leavened by the easy-on-the-ear 1950s background American swing and beat soundtracks.

I have just returned from F&B's very very disappointed , i mean the food is just awfull i had a mixed grill (£18-95).........and OMG it was all rubber steak and dried chicken served with a watered down bbq sauce and 1 mushroom. chips where nice but you cant get chips wrong really can you. my main was being brought to me before i had finished my starter.......WTF??

the previous week i went to a pub and had the most fantastic steak and that was in a pub not a multi million pound business and all in the pub cost £41 and F&B's cost £48 for alot less and of terrible quality.MY ADVICE IS DONT GO DONT GO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF ALL HUMANITY DONT GO

I really liked the look and idea of Frankie & Bennys, the 1950s diner look and sound is something refreshingly different. But the slight problem was the food! I ordered a mixed grill which took so long to arrive, i almost forgot what i had ordered!

When the food arrived i was greeted with a huge platter of cold burnt, dried out food. My friends food didnt look or taste too good either. Leaving the restaurant ( £23 down) i felt dissapointed and slightly angry. I wouldnt recomend going to a Frankie & Bennys restaurant.

Soup stone cold, sent it back. Potato skins burnt. Main course came out cold. No taste to food- simply heated up (or not!) microwaved meals. Complained but nothing done.

Have eaten at Frankie and Bennys bout half a dozen at various locations around the u.k and on every occassion i have never been dissapointed!

No this isnt fine dining, so dont expect it, but for what it is i think it is very good!

The sharing platter starter is a great starer, it is plenty for two and has a good variety and is cooked well! I found that the burgers, sandwiches and steaks all very good- well cooked, flavoursome and great portion size!

There is always a good atmosphere aswell, bustling, often with the sound of families having a good time. Also i have alwys found the service exellent, it is awlays busy but the staff always have smile and are very polite.

I agree that it is a bit overpriced, although the lunch time offer is very resonable, but no more so than any other establishment that is similar. In fact i find it much better value than TGI Fridays, cheaper and the food is better!

A good place to take the kids, or go with your friends before you hit the cinema!!

We have tried this a couple of times as it is near the cinema, the food is usually ok not huge portions but is expensive for what it is, the service seems to be normally poor due to their being very few servers for such a large outlet, usually there is a good kids pack which you get on arrival, sad to say that there are much better places to eat.

I went here with some colleagues from work as our office is round the corner, we explained we only had a short time to dine and they assured us they could serve us quickly, however this was not the case, we ordered food and drinks effecientely drinks took 20 mins to be delivered to our table, and our food took agggggges to arrive (I noticed it was left on pass for the waitress to actually bring it to our table) when it got to us one of the orders were wrong but we had waited so long that my colleague just ate it anyway!

The food was crap and cold even though we only had ordered simple starters/snacks as we were short of time!

I complained to the waitress who was rude and not interested AT ALL!

I would never come here again!

I would never normally eat at a restaurant like this. Having had a long day and a long drive we were hungry and it was late and this place serves late. I have to say I went in there feeling very skeptical but was pleasantly surprised! The food was fine - I had a pasta and seafood dish and my partner had calzone which was also fine! It is overpriced for the quality and I wouldn't choose to eat their over somewhere else but if I was stuck again late at night I would definitely use it. Service was very good too.

To sum up Frankie & Benny's “It’s like TGI Fridays but so much worse in every way” My Recommendation is to eat somewhere else it is just not worth eating here it won’t make you smile...
