Would you be surprised to learn this place serves an array of quality burgers? No shitsu, Sherlock! And pretty damn good they are too. The range of over 20 types, including veggie options which aren't just paying lip service, are accompanied by some hefty, fat chips - none of that skinny fries nonsense here - plus salads and desserts. They're not cheap but it is 100% Aberdeen Angus beef. And all served up in a bright, wood-finished, functional interior that is cheerful enough although hardly atmospheric. The kids will love it and it makes for a great pit stop when doing the Park St Saturday shopping trip.

I went to GBK with some friends for a bite out. We were going to go elsewhere but thought it might be cheaper to go to GBK.
Wow, how wrong we were!
Not only did we have to pay at a counter BEFORE we ate (like a McDonalds) but after ordering the burger (at £8.95) we found out that chips and any extras are at an additional cost and the beer were almost twice the price of those in the local pubs.
In all, I could have gone to a pricey restaurant for the same cost.
Will not go back again.

Although it certainly beats its high street fast food rivals in terms of quality the 'Gourmet' in its name is misleading. Most of the burgers on offer are similarly priced to pub burgers and marginally better quality but considering burger and fries for two with a coke each came in at £25 i seriously expected something amazing.
There is a large choice and some nice combinations on offer, they had run out of my first choice of Buffalo so I settled on the Chorizo burger. The burgers are well packed, the chorizo was suprisingly quite good as was the relish. On the other hand the sweet potato was cold, there was the equivalent of a supermarket pack of rocket dumped on top of the meat and the chips were average pub food.
Despite being 'gourmet' you order and pay at the counter and the place has a distinctly cafe feel about it but the staff were all friendly. I'm unlikely to visit again and wouldn't seriously recommend it to anyone unless they had a real burning desire for a burger.

Burgers.... and more burgers

The smell of burgers outside the restraunt door tempted us in. It was Friday night, so busy - and we had to sit in a tight corner table.
The menu was a variation on a theme - burgers - and we while would go again - we'd need to be in the mood for a burger.

Yes it;s a chain...but it's one of the better ones. Whilst I hate the fact there's always a queue to sit and then you have to queue some more to place your order at the till, it delivers good quality burgers. Drinks seem expensive, even non-booze. Keep an eye out for the BOGOF vouchers on the the internet/email as this is a baragin when you can't be bothered to cook.

Overpriced fast food

Whilst the food was ok and burgers were good quality, the overall impression is that this place is an overpriced fast food, one in one out factory. For the same money, you could eat in a decent restaurant but I guess if you like burgers then give it a go. McDonalds for rich students.

Burnt, greasy and expensive.
Lots of choice but I would drop the 'gourmet' because it was just a burger
Expensive and chips aren't too great, for which you have to pay extra.
Saying that, they do have free polo mints on the desk for on your way out
