Green Park Brasserie and Bar is gloriously located in the old booking hall of Green Park Station.
The ambience is relaxed and friendly, but they are serious about the quality of their food and drink. Much of the food is sourced at the weekly Farmers Market and from other local producers whilst the proprietor used to be a wine merchant.
There is melodic, live jazz three evenings every week to entertain diners and "just drinkers", played at a reasonable volume. There is even free, easy parking under the old station roof.

Food here I have to say was not as impressive as I'd initially hoped- and with such a wide choice in Bath, I have to say this isn't my favourite. However, it's not too excessively pricey- and their lunchtime menu was good. The feel of the place however makes it and I always enjoy a slice of cake and tea here- simply as it's quite relaxing. Service varies..

So....instead of our usual romantic Friday night out for two,we were accompanied by our two teenage sons! The oldest is off to university tomorrow and we felt that the Green Park Brasserie was an ideal venue for that "Last Supper".
It was a wonderful evening. The younger one, a true Jazz fanatic, was mesmorised by the band. This background music created a warming, cosy atmosphere in which we could chat & listen, chat & listen all evening.
Service was very good. Sufficient time was given for drinks, menu perusal and the three courses.
The food was just as I remembered from the last time we visited, using the |Invitiations book ~ excellent. The starters were imaginative, of high quality for a brasserie and "polished off" by all. The three boys had the burger, which they all thoroughly enjoyed. I had the pork in a herbed crust with mashed potato & spring onion. My only tiny critisism would be that the mustard sauce was a tad cool.
It was difficult to choose between the desserts. I plumped for the brulee. The hint of lavender was beautiful and I could eat this time and time again!
We used our Platinum card, which gave us two free main courses. The total bill with drinks being £92.

We booked on the day we ate and were pleasantly surprised when we were recognized when we arrived for our meal. The cello, guitar and singer who were playing were OK, if not brilliant, and added to the ambiance. Most of the customers were middle aged or older and at 27 we felt like the youngest people in the restaurant.
The menu was reassuringly short but had a decent variety. I had the wiltshire ham hock in mustard and leek sauce which was well done, the mustard not overpowering the meat. My husband had the steak which would have benefited from some form of sauce but was definitely up to standard. We ordered one portion of veg and roast potatoes between us and there was certainly enough. The potatoes in particular were very good.
For pudding I had the honey and lavender creme brulee, again well done with a good balance of flavors and a decent crust. The speed at which my husband destroyed the chocolate and raspberry tart speaks for itself. The service through was good and non-intrusive.

Not sure now of the exact details of one Wednesday in June 'cos we used to be fairly regular here, with or without the card but feel it has lost its footing somehow. Everything seemed to have gone down except the price, whether we just hit a bad night is one thing, whether we shal give them another go is a different matter. The jazz is neither here nor there for me so----1 Sorry Green Park

I always look forward to a meal here. The food is OK, but usually slightly disappoints. What makes the evening for me is the ambience. Quiet jazz to fill any lulls in the conversation, and a really nice setting. Service is always attentive, if a bit informal and I always feel the waitresses could use a bit more training.
