I've read some pretty dire reviews of this place so I was pleasantly surprised, the food is not bad at all. We were turned away at first as there was about half an hour wait they said, when we went back there was another 10-15 minute wait - it's obviously still pretty popular!

We ate the 'World's Best Olives' (not quite, & a strange shade of green), the tapenade it comes with is lovely. My friend had the Prawn Linguine which was very nice, & I had the Crab Spaghettini which was superb - reasonably priced given the portions aren't stingy. I had a bite of the Choc/Banana brownie, it was OK but nothing too special.

The waiting staff are nice enough but service is pretty slow, quite a wait between courses so if you need to be in & out fairly quickly, this might be a problem. No service charge added, so good on Jamie for dismissing that nonsense :) I'd go again for sure.

Received vouchers for this restaurant and didn't know what to expect apart from a warning about queuing! Got there at 11.45 and had to wait outside until it opened at 12 when we were shown to our table. We had been asked if we'd like to share, the answer was 'no thanks!'. Great atmosphere, good menu and friendly service.I like the fact you can see behind the scenes with the bustling kitchen in full view. Reasonably priced but not that wonderful that I'd rush to go again-maybe because it's new and in the centre so felt a bit one of a hundred other diners1

From the start reception very poor, told to wait outside then asked in by another staff member only to be told agian to wait outside by the Receptionist, she said 'I am the boss who says when somebody is to come in'! Very much a person who enjoys the power. After a few minutes again invited in , only had to wait 20 mins for a table, just as well as the bar area resembled a students union bar, dirty floor and tables. Food OK not sure where the Italian bit came in though. Pity about the tins of Plum Tomatoes proping up the so called Asti Pasti Plank. Very basic presentation and food, not what we expected from Jamie Oliver! Would not recommend or want to visit again.

good simple food with great ingredients. Nothing fancy. very reasonably priced, and very friendly service. You can't book so anyone who is prepared to wait can get in, they do bring out nibbles or hot chocolate. It does not matter if you "like" Jamie or not, it is an unpretentious place to grab simple delicious food that is not expensive.

Lovely food, although if it is possible, book in advance - we waited over 40 minutes outside in the freezing cold until our table was ready. Glad we did try it out though!

My daughter wanted to try Jamie's Italian for her 16th birthday, and, being a group of 10, we were able to book a table, which was great (usually you have to queue at the door and wait for a free spot). The food was gorgeous and the staff friendly and efficient. Drinks, particularly beer, was only sold in bottles, and were expensive. However, I felt that the wine was reasonably priced. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable evening and I would definately love to go again.

I went here for a late lunch on Friday. I have tried before but the place is always rammed as it is Mr Oliver’s and he is so very popular.

We walked in through the doors and were greeted by a pleasant member of the front of house team who told us there would be a short wait but no problem.

We sat at the bar ordered a drink and then were shown to our table.

My partner and i shared the Bread basket and the Italian Olives on ice with tapenade, very pleasant the bread was amazing only 6-8 olives which were ok but i have had better from Pizza Express the Tapenade was lovely.

My partner went for the Mushroom Ravioli with sage butter, the pasta was very nice and i myself went for the PRAWN LINGUINI @ 9.50 lot's of prawns in this rich tomato sauce couldn't fault it

The Jamie experience was a pleasant one but i have to say Fiorelli, which is around Queens Squre is better in my opinion
