This friendly curry house has gathered a long list of regulars who enjoy the personal touch and Curry Club-recommended food. And regular diners have included the late Beatle George Harrison among a long list of other celebrities, which can't be bad!
Situated on the first floor with good views of the Orange Grove and Bath Abbey by night, the 60-seater dining room is tastefully decked out in greens and cream with big windows and drapes. The overall feel is bright, airy, chic and modern. It's a look which suits the style of food which is Indian cuisine at its best. Although specialising in Tandoori dishes, the menu features many familiar and well-loved favourites. It is quality all round at Jamuna which explains the restaurant's longevity. The mix of first-class service, seriously good food and the cosy setting has won them many friends

Had a working lunch here.
Have to say bit spoilt for choice when it comes to Indian restaurants in Bath there a many good ones but this ranks up with the best.
Lot's of interesting dishes to choose from and the prices were very competetive.
All in all the 3 of us left feeling happy and pretty full from the tasty food.
We shared - Chicken Balti, Lamb Dupiaza, Afgan Chicken, Rice Nan bread and Bombay potatoes.

As visitors to Bath we came across the Jamuna restaurant by chance. What a find! DEspite the restaurant being full and no booking the very friendly and helpful staff found us a table after just a few minutes wait. It was well worth the wait too, the food was outstanding as was the service. Really authentic Indian food and attention detail in a wonderful setting overlooking the abbey. It really made our visit to Bath a very special occasion.

Having eaten at the Jamuna last year with a group of family and friends who travel the south of england in search of good curries I was told to rebook for this Easter. (This repeat visit to a restaurant is almost unheard of and is due partly to the group's love of the City of Bath but mainly to the excellent curry and good service.) They did not understand the Invitation 'plus 2' card so we did not get the discount expected but no complaints as a long casual enjoyable lunch was had by all. On this day the restaurant was busy - a tribute to its growing popularity - and the atmosphere was warm but less casual that many that we have visited and the views of the Abbey enhanced the dining area. This made the day seem a bit more special and as a result we took our time over the meal and have very happy memories of the day.

We've been living in Bath for just a couple of years and have tried every Indian restaurant here as we are curry lovers. Jamuna is head and shoulders above all the others, food is excellent, service is helpful but not obtrusive, the menu is extensive . They serve all the expected dishes with an additional list of balti. Side dishes are generous and they also offer traditional indian desserts, not just ice cream.
You will often see students from the sub-continent enjoying the food here, which is a recommendation in itself.
The room has recently been refurbished in a more relaxed, modern style but the food remains the same - thank heavens!

I tried the Jamuna for the first time in a party of three curry lovers. We have visited recommended Indian Restaurants all over the South of England over a number of years and rate this among the best. The restaurant is close to the centre of Bath and on the first floor with views of Bath Abbey. It is well decorated, bright and spacious and this made us relaxed and comfortable. The staff are excellent: friendly, very helpful and patient and were happy to answer our questions on recipes and ingredients. (This should encourage those who are not familiar with Indian cuisine to try the Jamuna as they will be happy to describe and recommend dishes to suit personal tastes.) The menu is comprehensive with a full range from mild curries to a worthy vindaloo. We were impressed by the quality of all the dishes that we ordered and left very pleased with all aspects of the dining experience. I have no hesitation in recommending the Jamuna to anyone who wants good Indian food in a pleasant friendly environment.
