What we say

South Indian food is probably the world's best vegetarian cuisine and at Bristol's newest and only South Indian restaurant, they certainly know their iddlys from their uthappams. Krishna's Inn, on the Triangle, will introduce you to a wonderfully different taste from the beautiful Kerala region of South India.

Alongside the favourites, there are lots of dishes unique to south India with an emphasis on healthy cooking using the freshest ingredients. Many of the authentic organic spices used by their experienced Chef, Joy, have medicinal properties too! To start, try the crispy masala dosa, with coconut chutney and lentil sambar; or iddly - a steamed cake made with rice. Mains include chicken varuthuarachathu - delicious marinated chicken breast, and Mangalore fish curry - marinated in chilli and ginger garlic paste.

I am Indian and I know what is good and what is bad Indian food but you dont have to be Indian to know awful service. The restaurant looks OK, which is more than can be said for the staff. It is important to make an effort and to present a good image, they didnt bother. The service was slow and the staff looked disinterested in serving anyone. Once we were able to place an order, the Dosa and Poori arrived. The dosa was good, cripsy pancake, large portion of potato and just enough cocconut chutney. Slighty let down as the Samba ( the sause) wasnt tangy enough. The Poori was fine, nothing to write home about. Worse was to come as we were served the Chilli Prawn and Tomato rice. The Prawn was insipid, oily and lacking in any chilli punch...what was the point. The rice was fine, but you would have to burn it to make it as bad as the Prawn.

I am always asked by people were to go for good , authentic Indian food and normally I say my Mum`s but she has small dining table and couldnt accomodate the curry lovers of Bristol.

There are a handful of genuine Indian restaurants in Bristol and Krishna`s Inn is one (Ganesha, Bedminster and Myristica are the others) but I wouldnt say it is a good example.

To improve SACK the chef, staff please attend a charisma class or two and please introduce printed bills...if I want bad hand writing I go to my doctor..

I've become quite sceptical with these so called indian restuarants, and again was expecting another disappointing experience. Alas this has changed my mind and provided me with hope that this Indian Restuarant is actually quite unique. I was overwhelmed with the medley of dishes on display and the service was very promot although when it is busy service can take a little longer but trust me the food makes up for this. I loved the masala dosa as a starter, and thoroughly enjoyed the mutton curry with it's rich deep curry sauce, as well as the veggie options such as bombay potatoes and the stuffed parathas are quite heavenly too. Do not be put off by the other reviews, you need to experience this for yourself!

Had been to this place as this one of the few south Indian restaurant. But was let down by the service and food was not that great. I prefer ganeshas (Bedminister) as better alternative.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILLS BEFORE YOU PAY AS IT IS HANDWRITTEN AND NOT ABLE TO READ PROPERLY.

I ordered Popdum (4 of them) and the waiter brought 6 and told on the house. What it meant was that extra two were free. Also he charge for two chutney trays where as I had ordered only one.

    VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Booked a 9pm sitting on a Sat night as they were busy but upon arrival had to stand waiting for 30 mins - the only compensation for this was free poddodoms/chutneys. A shame as this was a good cheap 'n' cheerful Indian with well cooked food. Don't go expecting plush surroundings - (cheap) paper napkins, only one toilet etc but good to grab a bite to eat and very tasty.
