A converted Grade 2 listed building, with lots of natural light entering the high-ceilinged dining room, Loch Fyne enjoys a superb central location at the top of Bath's Milsom Street.
The menu is largely fish and shellfish, which come direct from the sustainable waters of Loch Fyne in Scotland. From here, in the cold Scottish waters, comes a large proportion of the fish which quickly makes its way to your plate, making the dishes at Loch Fyne some of the freshest and most flavoursome around.
You can start with oysters, mussels, kippers, squid and many more, priced around £6. The main course menu offers a wide variety of seafood ranging from pan-fried Loch Duart salmon with shiitake mushrooms and lemon ginger dressing, Gilthead sea bream with new potatoes and fine beans, to a whole lobster served hot with garlic butter, or cold with truffle oil mayonnaise. And there's a huge selection of homemade deserts to end with.
Loch Fyne is part of a chain, but don't let that put you off. This stylish eaterie delivers nothing more than perfection to Bath's ever-evolving food scene.

I can't climb down off the fence here. I still find the lack of any soft furnishings make this a very noisy place with clatter of chairs, tables, plates, cutlery and even heels! The food is good quality but not generous portions. They are always very busy with tourists and don't really need the likes of us on discount with the Invitation card, on the other hand, I wouldn't pay their full prices for their portions, though I have to say the Turbot "Special" was quite a good size. Suits pre-theatre diners!

The manager here is quite happy to serve and expect his customers to eat raw salmon,if you ask for it to be cooked all the way through it comes back burnt and shrivelled.

Had lunch here with a friend 2 courses for £11
Very impressed, Mussels to start and Beer Battered Cod with fries and mushy peas it was extremely good.
Service was spot on and wine also. Am going to try the shellfish platter in the Bristol Restaurant soon.

We dined with friends who were new Loch F. We all thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. With no soft furnishings, on a busy night, the clatter on the beautiful wooden floor can be a little overwhelming. I am not sure if we would dine at these prices without the fab discount of the Invitation card! Still a great night out for fish foodies!

Great Family Resturant

Visited for a family occasion and we were not disappointed. As well as the reasonable normal menu they always have an excellent specials board from which I picked. The food was excellent and I really enjoyed my chowder but special praise must be made for how child friendly they are. They have a children’s menu which offers scaled down versions of their main menu and my daughter who is nearly 4 loved her mussels.

Good Food & Service

We are regular visitors and would always recommend this Loch Fynne to any fish lover. The food has always been flavoursome and well presented. The restaurant lacked atmosphere on this occasion as it was early evening but the service was very attentive and informative. The only criticism was that the white wine was warm, despite it snowing outside, and although it was one of the cheaper bottles it was still disappointing. We have had similar problems with cheaper reds as well before. The better wines have always been good but I would consider them overpriced.

This was my first visit. I require a gluten-free diet and the staff were extremely helpful in going through the menu with me. They were prepared to supply an alternative if I was unable to eat a sauce. Thank you for an enjoyable meal!

This branch of a nationwide chain has decent fresh fish and seafood, well presented in a bustling setting. Set in a listed former bank, the room is cavernous but attractive. The table can be a bit squashed and the atmosphere is more bustling than relaxed. Service is attentive. Prices can be a bit on the high side if you don't take advantage of one of their many special offers.

Loch Fyne is a quite large busy city centre restaurant that specialises in all kinds of fish and seafood, fresh and expertly cooked. The staff are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended - if you love fish!
