Absolutely gorgeous again and this time with the benefit of a re-newed Invitation card discount. Great menu, good selection of beers and wine, my only negative comment may be the starter portions are somewhat skimpy in size, I would recommend you order the "bread basket " to accompany your first course! Excellent quality produce that's well prepared and "good to handle" cutlery. Great place, has everthing going for it and they've pretty much got it right; well done! I've not written every time we've dined here, but the place is so busy, I can't believe nobody else has written at all!!!!

Yes it's me again, raving about the Malborough. The quality of everything here is equal to any 5* hotel restaurant, an imaginative chef using fresh local produce; all served by the most professional, knowledgeable, friendly "bunch of lasses" you're likely to come across. They really do appear to be enjoying every moment of their hard working lives! Must try their other establishment "Chequers" in River St. see if the same standards are present.

Heard great things about the "ol' tap" now I wish we hadn't left it so long before visiting to see it's now, not so new look. It's busy, bustling, friendly, with a great informal atmosphere but the staff are superb, the food fantastic, the ambience suits all ages in spite of it appearing to be a "bit on the young" side, when we first walked in! A good range of beers and wines, I couldn't fault the place, plus we had the benefit of the invitation card
