What we say

Max's Italian Bistro offers authentic Italian cuisine. Those who have travelled will realise there is more to Italy than just pizza and pasta, and Max's offers just that.

The quality of the food combines brilliantly with the service and the general atmosphere. The refreshing and open restaurant manages to somehow also achieve an intimate and cosy ambience.

Every dish is freshly made on the premises, including the pasta and all the desserts, using the finest ingredients delivered daily. If you really enjoy eating out and appreciate good service, refreshing décor and modern Italian cuisine, Max's is definitely worth a visit.

Open for business and leisurely lunches during the week.

Simply wonderful evening out - the food was moreish, and that goes for starter, main course and desert for both myself and my partner. The wine suggested by Max's was spot on too!

Can't wait to go back.....and frequently!!!

So refreshing to go to a restaurant and not be forced to have the bog standard chrismas menu that is made for the masses and you know is prepared well in advance. At Max's it just the normal menu which in itself is wonderful so you have the freedom to treat yourself to whatever you want, i indulged this evening and delighted my tastebuds to a starter of 4 huge prawns, a beautiful rack of lamb and the cheesboard, all washed down with a nice chianti!!! Just Fabulous

Having just visited maxs I thoroughly recommend it. We have had one of the best if not the best meal we have ever had in Bristol. Calamari to start wonderful, then ravoli with porcini mushroom just so full of flavour and could not resist tiramisu to finish. All washed down with lovely wine. The service was excellent, just an amazing night out.

Visited Max's again on Saturday night, the place was packed, not surprising so as the food was delicious, I had warm buffalo mozzarella with aubergine to start followed by the beat steak I have ever had with porcini mushrooms and then managed a crepe!! The whole meal was divine, the service freindly, professional but not intrusive and we stayed all night just enjoying the atmosphere. Highly recommened.

Max’s is a lovely small, intimate, romantic restaurant that serves fabulous food. Superb Italian food and presented with precision on the plate. Great wines and very efficient, friendly service – One thing that I will have to just add is the price is much higher than your standard Italian restaurant; but this is an above standard Italian restaurant.

I would definitely recommend you try this restaurant if you would like a special romantic evening.

Italian food is one of my favourite types of food and so any Italian restaurant outside Italy has a real challenge to satisfy my tastebuds so when my friend recommended to me Max's and suggested we went I was somewhat dubious but excited. The owner Max offers great service in a cosy environment. I started off with Gamberoni, followed by a spicy pasta dish and ended the meal with Tiramisu. The food was in good portions and the Tiramisu was one of the nicest I have had (outside Italy) If you enjoy good, simple food and great service then look no further than Max's
