If you've been on holiday to the Med recently, chances are you'll have been tempted to sit down in a taverna and try a mezze. These mixed platters of appetisers are popular in eastern Mediterranean countries, where they serve olives, artichokes, roasted peppers with cheese amongst others, with drinks.
Biar Darwish, your host at Mina, grew up in Lebanon, where mezze and salads made up a large part of his mealtimes. He says "A good salad should be light, fresh, and full of flavour, with herbs and spices lifting it up to something special".
Biar's recipes, featuring traditional fattoush and tabbouleh, are all Lebanese favorites, and these tasty little dishes sit alongside a full à la carte providing something for everyone. All this is accompanied by famously friendly service, highly recommended by the many regulars who enjoy "a taste of sunshine".
