Must Dim Sum Bar and Restaurant offers all the influences of Western style and design, mixed with the classic taste of the Orient. The restaurant is well placed for the corporate entertainer and the city dweller, providing a place to gather during and after their working day.
The first thing you would notice about Must is the décor - the front bar area provides a light, creamy atmosphere, with bar stools pulled up to the long counter and plenty of other seating aside. The rear of the restaurant splits off into two stylish rooms; to the right, a contemporary dining area with red leather seating and taupe walls; to the left, a moodier, wooden paneled sanctuary.
The next striking thing is the food - the menu is varied and original, and features an oustanding selection of seafood dishes, with highlights including pei fong tong lobster with roasted garlic and chillies; and scallops and king prawns bird’s nest - marinated king prawns stir fried with asparagus, celery and sugar snap beans in Szechuan sauce.
Or, for a something a bit different, why not try Dim Sum - small portions of meat, fish, chicken or vegetable parcels, steamed or fried and perfect for sharing. Try the Japanese dumpling, the sesame paper prawn roll, or for a treat, the shui mai - pork and king prawns wrapped in pastry and topped with seasoned Capelin roe.
An extensive choice of wines, cocktails, beers and champagnes accompanies the menu perfectly.

The restaurant area is nicely closed off from the noisy bar. There are two areas to the restaurant, one being the standard table set-up, the other with comfy sofas and large armchairs. We chose the latter, which was great for chatting in-between courses but a bit of a stretch whilst eating. The food was amazing and the wine was even better. Service was also very good however as soon as you took a sip of your wine, your glass was topped up. This became extremely annoying as you felt rushed to drink up, plus if you were a slower drinker then you had to knock it back in order to get any! I would definitely go back and would recommend it highly.

If you're looking for a lively location to kick start the weekend, you could do a lot worse than Must. A firm favourite with me and my colleagues, Must ticks all the right boxes with a tantalising selection of quick bite dishes and main menu items, all reasonably priced and served in good sized portions. Happy hour cocktail deals, accompanied by spicy prawn crackers go down very well and help add to the general feel good factor that seems to fill this ambient and intimate venue. Recommened!

After a busy day in Birmingham my husband and I thought this would be a nice quiet place for a bite before heading back home as it is just away from all the shops. The restaurant is split in 2 sides at the back of the bar area, sectioned off. It is beatifully and authentically decorated and the sofa style seats very comfortable. As we were there before 7pm we could choose from the dim sum menu. There is a big variety of steamed or fried dumplings together with the usual spring rolls and spare ribs. We ordered 8 between us thinking we may need to order a main meal to share afterwards but found the portions to be enough for us. The staff were all very friendly and attentive and overall could not fault a thing. We will definitely be returning again in the future.
