What we say

New World Cantonese Restaurant has been operating in Newport city centre, opposite the Central Police Station, since 2000 and has developed a sound local reputation for authentic Pekingese and Szechuan, cuisine.

The venue looks quite small from the outside but, in fact, the traditionally decorated interior can seat up to 110 diners. The kitchen only uses the best of local, seasonal produce to source the menu and everything is cooked fresh on the premises. The owner is originally from Hong Kong and the staff, also from there, have been with him for many years. Together with the soothing background music, they make for an authentic and relaxed dining experience.

The restaurant is particularly busy at weekends, not only with diners but with the popular takeaway service
