What we say

The Phoenix Restaurant offers a stunning à la carte menu, using the finest local ingredients to create authentic recipes and tasty, aromatic dishes. Set in the tranquil surroundings of Mercure Holland House Hotel, this sophisticated brasserie-style restaurant is the perfect place for an intimate meal for two or a special occasion with friends or family.

Wine tasting is a passion for many and guests can indulge in a variety of fine wines while they dine in the Phoenix Restaurant. Les Grands Vins Mercure is a quality wine list from around the world, providing guests with the opportunity to discover fine wines at affordable prices.

Take your pick from the varied and imaginative menu, which spans classics such as roast rump of lamb with ratatouille, garlic mashed potato and basil jus; alongside contemporary fare like the wild mushroom and goat's cheese risotto with poached egg and truffle oil. Any resolutions against desserts will be quickly dispelled when faced with choices such as strawberry and mascarpone crème brûlée, or chocolate and hazelnut tart.

To complete the evening, guests can retreat to the stylish Phoenix bar for an after dinner drink and choose from a wide selection of cocktails, alcoholic beverages and a variety of delicious coffees. With big easy sofas, luxury autumn textiles and impeccable service, it's easy to relax and enjoy the laid back atmosphere.

I ordered a steak which came on a tiny little board with hardlly anything to it, it didnt fill me up at all and was very pricey. There arnt enough english staff at this hotel, I found it too difficult to communicate what it was I wanted. They waitresses hung around in groups speaking in foreign languages and seemed to have attitude. It wasnt very welcoming and wouldnt go there again.
