What we say

In 1965, an English eccentric entrepreneur by the name of Peter Boizot changed the face of British dining forever. He teamed up with Enzo Apicella, a fiery Italian designer, to create a new type of restaurant that shattered the mould and rewrote the rule book.

Out went the dull food, lacklustre interiors and indifferent service that were the standards of the day. In came a vivid, passionate approach to dining thanks to the synergy of cultures from the two very different men – Italian flair and panache coupled with the very best of English creativity and idiosyncrasy. Pizza Express was born, bringing the true tastes of Italy to the British high street.

Now, more than 40 years and 320 restaurants after the first Pizza Express opened in Soho, the restaurant is firmly established at the very heart of British life, providing the freshest food and the warmest welcome whoever the customer and whatever the occasion. The secret of their success is the same now as it always has been – a passion for pizza, a love of people and a relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere.

The very best ingredients, imaginative recipes and innovative menus have ensured a devoted following among customers for decades. Along with the fabulous range of pizzas sit imaginative salads and classic pasta dishes. There is plenty for vegetarians, vegans, even those with nut allergies are catered for, and children can enjoy a 3-course meal from the Piccolo menu for only £5.25.

And, after searching Italy's finest vineyards, the resident Master of Wine – one of a small group renowned worldwide for their skills – has assembled an impressive wine list that complements the recipes perfectly.

Each time I've come to Swansea's Pizza Express, each meal ,(whatever time of day or night), every experience was always as delightful as the last.

I have been coming here over the years (roughly since 2003/4), and the food, setting and the staff have all been great!

The food is 'scrumptiously-delicious', pizzas never burnt, salads always a delight and the Tiramisu dessert..Gorgeous!!! -The Tiramisu is soo nice I have never yet been able to refuse it in order to try another of their desserts!

My favourite starter is the tomato and mozzarella salad -a perfect starter to any of their meals, otherwise when I fancy a change I opt for their 'Dough balls'..purely scrumptious yet again. My favourite pizza?? That's too hard to choose, I love them all!

..I have been away for the last two years and so I shall definately be dropping by again shortly! :)
