What we say

Planet Pizza on the busy Gloucester Road enjoys a terrace overlooking the now defunct Victorian swimming baths. Since opening their first Branch on Whiteladies Road, Planet Pizza has been a huge success with shoppers, parents and children, students and evening revellers alike. The décor and furnishings are individual and warm with wooden chairs, slate floors and modern artwork which combine to provide a contemporary atmosphere. The staff are friendly and laid back yet on the ball - service is top notch. As are the pizzas, it must be said - great bases smothered with a large variety of toppings, all named after a planet from our solar system thereby presenting the opportunity for many Uranus jokes.

Planet Pizza on the Gloucester Road is the perfect place to pop to for a casual lunch as well as for dinner with a big group of friends in the evening. A large relaxed environment, the restaurant is great for couples through to large groups of people who are after a good time out with lovely food and friendly service. For my birthday, a table of 8 enjoyed a range of pizzas all for about £10-14 and big enough to take some home afterward - with some great options for meat eaters and vegetarians alike - and possibly even better than the pizzas, some amazing salads ranging from chicken and bacon with chorizo to goats cheese and halloumi varieties that were really delicious. (If you are thinking of going for lunch, the starter size versions of the salads would be big enough for the job!). And look out for special deals too - as we went on a weekday, we got our pizzas buy one get one free so the price was right too!

Decent pizza - not out of this world but fine, and with some interesting combinations of toppings. I do however agree with the below comment that the bases could be thinner.

Good service and they were more than willing to accommodate the two prams and babies we brought with us!

The idea of planet pizza is really clever and quirky. Really nice to see some interesting combinations on the menu. I'd say that the bases are a little thick for my liking. I'd definitely go back and try all their combinations

Went here last night for a friend's birthday, I'd been once before and had a nice time, but I was forced to write this review after some disppointing service last night. No complaints about the food, that was very nice. We'd eaten our starters - they were left on our table for a good 20 mins before SOME of them were taken away - they left 2 plates from the starters on our table for the rest of the meal, so we had to start putting them on the empty table next to us - we also did this with empty glasses. One of the waiters was constantly looking at our table but simply didn't clear any of our finished dishes away. The restaurant wasn't even that busy - on top of this at the end of the night they 'kindly' automatically put on a 10% tip - something which i wouldn't mind - if the service had been any good whatsoever. I recommend takeaway!

This is a great place for taking the kids on a Saturday morning. We go there regularly, with other friends, and the manager and staff there are always keen to accommodate groups of 8 or more on refectory tables. It gets pretty hectic - not a place for the mother-in-law - but the kids love the drawing materials, and the table football.... As for the food, it's consistently good, with the option to split pizza toppings.

I live 15 mins walk from this place, and we eat there at least twice a month. The pizzas and salads are amazing, the staff are always very friendly and nice and I've never had a bad meal here. If you can't finish your Pizza, they'll put the rest in a box for you (very handy when 2-4-1 is on offer!) Family friendly, and great for mates and dates too. As always, I will keep visiting!
