What we say

Diego and Heidi Da Re would like to introduce you to their new Italian restaurant. The premises have undergone a complete refit, producing a stylish contemporary atmosphere in which to enjoy some truly authentic Italian cuisine, accompanied by an interesting, well-planned wine list.

Diego Da Re, Owner and Head Chef, is a native Italian from Veneto in the north eastern region of Italy. Prosecco itself is a light sparkling wine from Veneto, imported exclusively from a vineyard neighbouring Diego's family home and made by friends dating back to his school days.

As a small independent restaurant, Prosecco provides a warm and friendly atmosphere suited to all occasions. Whether you choose the quick, affordable lunch menu, or a relaxing meal with the seasonal à la carte, both can promise you the highest quality ingredients, freshly cooked by Italian Chefs.

We visited Proseco with the times discount dining offer. Excellent value, 3 courses for £10!

Food was excellent as were the white wines by the glass.

Great simple Italian dishes perfect for a weekend lunch.

Copper at gold prices. A trio of ravioli starter £9.50. For that sort of money I expected something out of this world rather than out of a tin. To be fair, it was average, But £9.50? The Sea Bream for main was nice but came with a serving of potatoes designed to make you order side dishes (which we got the hard sell on). Two friends had 'Mediterranean' fish cakes - they were small fish nuggets. Tiramisu for dessert was again, fine. Couldn't help thinking that Pizaa Express does it better and cheaper. I don't mind spending serious money on great food but this was expensive and underwhelming. After featuring on the F word it's clear you're paying a Gordon Ramsay tax on average food. Go to Carluccios if you want Italian food with flavour and at the right price.

We arrived at around 7 pm and the restaurant was nearly full.

Our italian waiteress was very kind and knowledgeable ,she suggested that we taste the Prosecco wine that comes straight from the proprietors vineyard. It was better than Champagne and much cheaper! The food was incredibly original, reallly delicious, yet simple, unpretentious food. The ambience was a bit noisy because by 8ish the place was buzzing .

It might be quieter during the week. Nice touch to have the pictures of the team with Gordon Ramsay. In my opinion they truly deserve the accolade as finalists in the UKs best local restaurant competitoin! We will be back with plenty of friends. Thank you Prosecco!

I have eaten here twice now - both for a quiet night out to catch up with a friend. The atmosphere is quiet, which is a shame as it deserves to be fuller than it is. I had delicious fishcakes that were typically Italian (ie not stuffed with breadcrumbs and potato). When I complimented the waitress she told me that the fishcakes were not always well received but it is a matter of understanding traditional Italian cuisine.

We visited this restauarant for my patrner's birthday and it was a wonderful place to eat from start to finish. I enjoyed a starter of fishcakes, perfectly crisp and cooked with subtle flavouring I would recommend them as a starter. My main course of chicken wrapped in Italian ham with seasonal vegetables was perfectly cooked and the Tiramisu was excellent - most definitely one of the nicest ones I have tried. there's plenty of choice on the menu and a nice winelist. The restaurant aslo offers food and wine tasting evenings where you are guided through Italian regional food and wines, I havent managed to make it to one of these evenings yet but am sure it be worth every penny.

My friend and I decided to pop out for a bite to eat in on a miserable Tuesday night and found ourselves in Prosecco. We had a brilliant night the restaurant was buzzing with people and had a great atmosphere. We both had pasta dishes which were beautifully fresh and delicious. I had pappadelle with roasted duck and rosemary sauce which was a hearty warming dish and my friend had the linguine with fresh Devon mussels. WOW they were beautiful! We couldn't resist sharing a Chocolate Paradiso for pudding, as in the name it was truly paradise. Can't wait to go back and have a serious splurge, found it all very reasonable which felt like a bonus considering what a great night we had. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you Prosecco !

I went to Prosecco with a friend - at 8pm it was still very quiet with a somewhat awkward quietness. I ordered fishcakes and salad and was disappointed with both. The salad looked like one I knock up for lunch and the fishcakes really needed to be served with something else as were dull on their own. Staff however were friendly and nice.

I went here with a friend about two month's ago after being recommended by a friend, I am a big fan of traditional Italian food and was not disappointed. I had a very enjoyable meal but I did think that they could have maybe given some more vegetables with my Lamb. Good service too.....
