What we say

Quartier Vert occupies a warm place in many Bristolians' hearts. Formally trading as Rocinantes, the amiable duo Barny Haughton and Connie Coombs introduced many Clifton diners to the joys of organic produce and tapas before many of us knew what these were. Most of the ingredients are still organic and tapas, or 'little dishes', still figure on the menu as well as lunch specials and classy a la carte dishes. With its long wooden bar, spacious downstairs and upstairs dining areas and the busiest terrace on Whiteladies Road, Quartier Vert is part of Bristol's culinary heritage.

Quartier Vert is a brilliant gem- and the more personal, laid back and friendly equivalent of Bordeaux Quay. Don't get me wrong- Bordeaux Quay is great, but Quartier Vert (same owner) has a much more personlised feel. Wooden tables, low lighting, with a casual feel- Food is fantastic. I thoroughly recommend the tapas deal- 5 delicious mini dishes for £9.50 based on two sharing. High quality ingredients, delicious food and also very filling! And then.. you'll probably be tempted by pudding too- which equally matches this high quality.
