Tucked away from the bustle of Whiteladies Road, Rucola (Italian for “rocket”, the garden variety, in case you didn't know) features a wonderful, airy, south-facing heated and covered terrace, ideal for those stretched out dining moments. The décor, inside and out, features all points on the purple spectrum, from plum to lavender, and provides a contemporary and restful setting for the pleasant, unfussy service. The menu, locally sourced and changing with the seasons, is an interesting mix of English and European cuisine (try the chargrilled squid with sweet chilli jam), and there are plenty of vegetarian options. There is, however, nothing European about the Sunrise-Sunset Full English Breakfast, a strong favourite with the locals, as is the Express Meal Deal (one dish and one free drink).
The restaurant's motto is “Eat. Drink. Relax” and, judging by how busy it is, Rucola seems to have taken off.

Always good. Favourites is the veggie brekkie and blackstone eggs!! Ambience is good too. Had a cheeky after work beer under the canopy one evening too. Patio heaters made it very pleasant. Definatley recommend - food is great!!

Another one of my favourite venues in the Bristol and Bath area.
I love to come here for the Blackstone Eggs - muffin, egg, bacon, hash brown, tomato, cheese sauce and melted cheese (x2). Delicious at any time of the day, and trust me - the sum is far greater than the parts! But then, I haven't yet tried a dish here that I didn't enjoy. Every dish is cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. They also do a very nice cup of coffee, with a wide choice of flavourings, of which coconut cappucino is my current favourite.
The service is always pleasant and the prices are reasonable. Enjoy!
