I've been going to Saleems for at least 30 years, it's the genuine article. I'm a great lover of Indian and Pakistani cuisine and I cook a really good curry myself. Despite now living near Banbury I still travel regularly back to Saleems for a fix. Yes there are flashier restaurants and if all you want is someone elses version of a chicken tikka massala then maybe you should try a change. My personal favourite is Balti meat with Tinda (baby pumpkin) it's to die for, and the naan bread is almost a religious experience. Saleem the current owner is the younger son of the original Saleem who started it nearly forty years ago. Take your own booze if that's what you want but just enjoy the food. You'll be made very welcome and you'll definitely want to go back again and again. I do.
