Carl Say gets fresh with our taste buds in this rapidly growing themed chain (three branches in Bristol, one in Bath) which started life as a takeaway providing restaurant-quality food. Carl hails from southern Africa but has travelled the world and it shows in the cuisine which takes the emblematic Italian dishes and gives them an international twist (Kalahari pizza, would you believe).
Freshness is a fetish here, all the pasta is made in the kitchen from the finest ingredients and every ingredient in every dish is sourced to the highest quality. Deep fry, preservatives, colourings, artificial flavourings: all banned. Oh, and its fun and great value for money. How can anything that does you this much good still be legal?

Cold!

We were given a voucher by a friend as a Christmas present. It was a particularly cold night when we visited and even though we were seated away from the door every time it opened an Arctic blast swept around the restaurant, we were freezing. We had a very long wait for both drinks and food, at one point I thought we had been forgotten. The food was quite nice but nothing special, a bit overpriced. I wouldn't return and neither would my dining companion.

Went to this place after the cinema as it is very close. My friend and I love Italian so thought we would try this one out. The atmosphere was nice but the food was bland and very under seasoned. The service was OK. Overall I would not visit this restaurant again especially when there are so many good Italian restaurants in Bath.

Came here for lunch- the food was good, and well presented. The staff were friendly but not particularly attentive and required a little prompting. A safe bet but nothing particularly spectacular.
