A popular and well-established Indian eatery, Sheesh Mahal has curried favour with locals for many years. Like many of its kind, the inside is decorated in deep colours with a hint of Hindu temple: Taj Mahal meets Odeon cinema. One interesting feature is a number of booths which enable more private dining. Nice atmosphere, but can get very busy. Traditional Indian fare is complemented by a selection of regional dishes, "Sheesh Specialities". If you're suffering from poppadum-withdrawal and feel like making rupee, then you could do a lot worse than pop into Sheesh.

One of the best madras's I have ever had. The best onion bhajees I have had.
Looks a little dated from the outside -net curtains- but a hidden gem inside. Friendly, attentive staff.
The best Indian I have tried in UK.
