Set in the heart of Clifton, there has been a real buzz around Strada since it opened in 2006. The contemporary and stylish surroundings and extensive Italian menu have attracted a wide audience and there have rarely been many tables empty. A lively atmosphere and attentive members of staff mean you are well looked after as soon as you arrive, and tasteful music and lighting also enhance the experience.
The menu includes hand-stretched pizzas, fresh pastas, risottos, chargrilled meat and seafood dishes, all tasting as if you had sat down to eat them homecooked in Italy with only the very finest, fresh, seasonal ingredients used. Seasonal specials which change regularly mean there is always something new to try, and traditional favourites mean there is something to suit everyone.
Schiacciatella (a basket of homemade flat bread, either garlic and rosemary or pesto and tomato) and olives is a great way to begin, with panzanella con involtini – a classic Tuscan salad of vine cherry tomatoes, cucumber, roasted red peppers, onion, ciabatta croutons and olives with melted buffalo mozzarella wrapped in smoked ham – a very popular starter. For main courses the filetto di manzo al pepe verde – pan-roasted fillet of beef in shallot and green peppercorn sauce with buttered green beans and garlic and thyme potatoes – melts in the mouth.
Strada serves carefully selected purely regional Italian wines, as well as beers and spirits, which have all been chosen to complement the menu. In addition every table receives complimentary bottled filtered water.

Reasonable food, poor service

Strada, Clifton Village is another installment of the Italian chain, has a contemporary decor, comfortable dining area and compared to other Italian chains an interesting menu offering more than the standard pizza and pasta fayre.
The starter was a generous portion of gnocchi with a good texture but a sauce so bland i was left wondering if it had been tasted at all by the chef before it left the kitchen. The table salt and pepper transformed it into a palatable dish.
An unacceptable wait later and a dish of steaming hot risotto Capasante arrived, the rice
had a good firm texture and good consistency. The scallops were nicely cooked and complimented well by the smokey pancetta, though the subtlety of the scallop was overpowered by too much chilli in the overall dish.
Service was poor and unprofessional, we had to ask for our main course half an hour after the starter had been cleared, on bringing the main course to the table our waitress referred to one dish as"the pasta dish no-one can pronounce" and didn't even know what on of the
dishes was. Overall poor service and an incorrect bill resulted in us taking off the service
charge.
Prices are reasonable with four starters, four mains and a bottle of reasonable Italian
white coming in at less than £100. On this ocassion reasonable food was let down by low
quality service.

Eaten here weekday lunchtimes & their offer is really good value, my first visit on an evening (Sunday) was busy with a lot of small children present - take that as you will ;)
The pizzas are great, I think they are a bit superior to Zizzis across the road - & the choice of toppings is better. I had a seafood Linguine rather than a pizza that I normally have, & it was lovely. Out of choice between Zizzi & Strada, I'd go with the latter. Prices are more or less the same but it's just that tiny bit better, I think.

Enjoyed a delicious meal here on Friday evening.
Portion sizes were sensible, so unfortunately we had 3 courses (well 2 of us shared a pudding!) so the bill came to over £100 for 3 people.
Ambience was very good, and service excellent as well, so I suppose you do have to pay a bit extra for the good overall experience.
Will return, but try not to eat so much next time!

I have eaten here three times now - always a pleasure whether it is a family Sunday lunch or a girlie night out. The food is great, affordable and arrives promptly. The atmosphere is lively and humming with activity. The staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive.
We will be back!!

Visited this restaurant on my birthday and it was lovely.
The food was fresh, the menu had some great choices on it although the guinea fowl that i was eyeing up was unfortunately off the menu that night.
We were sat right by the kitchen so we could see all the lovely food that was coming out.
More expensive than some italians but i would say food was of a higher standard.

Took my parents in law for a stroll around clifton and stopped in for lunch, was really delicious food, fantastic service and lovely relaxing atmosphere. It was surprisingly busy for a lunch time. We all thouroughly enjoyed our meals and i felt spoilt for choice with the menu as everything sounded lovely. The restaurant was very clean and well presented even the toilets were lovely too!
Would definately re-visit

Fresh, good quality, tasty Italian food and reasonably priced. I have been here a number of times over the last couple of years and have not had a bad meal. The size of the restaurant and the decor give it a relaxing atmosphere. Nice place for going for a meal with friends or as a couple. The service has always been very good. It is a chain so we were very pleasantly surprised at the food quality. Will be going again.

The food is always good (I'm a bit of a regular) and never fails to please the tastebuds. It also offers brilliant value lunch deals at £7.50 for a main course and glass of wine. Strada is what I'd call a safe bet. It is a chain, which I am making no snobbish statements about but it should be noted that you'll get the same thing whether it be in Clifton or Leamington Spa. BUT they do it well-and more importantly, at a realistic price (although, perhaps better value at lunch than the evening). Service is always prompt anf friendly.

Had a really pleasant meal here with the parents, when they visited. We all had pizzas, which were big...with lots of fresh toppings .... just like you get on the continent. Service was quick and friendly, and the bill wasn't too big. Will definately go back!
