Really impressed by the food - lots of dishes that featured on Rick Stein's recent odyssey so it was quite hard to pick just one! Went for the Thai Penang curry in the end, which was lovely. Accompanying rice cooked well & the side dish of Goi Cuon - the rice paper spring rolls - was delicious. Their Thai spiced prawn crackers are very moorish - oven baked I would think as not a bit of grease on them.

All in all, a very satisfying & healthy lunch - and good value. Recommended!

Following some Christmas shopping my dining companion and I decided to visit the Cabot Circus based Tampopo which was reasonably full. The seating is the bench style seating found in many Asian restaurants and the menu is a combination of dishes from a variety of East Asian countries.

I opted for the the Pho Xao Bo from Vietnam which is fragrant flat rice noodles with sliced rump steak, lemongrass, mint & coriander. Although a pleasant enough dish there was nothing about it that made it stand out from the hundreds of other Asian dishes I have had over the years. My companion seemed happier than I was with her Pad Thai.

Service was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere was good although the style of seating leaves you sat a little too close to complete strangers when busy and it is not a place conducive to private conversations.

With so many other restaurants in Bristol offering food from the same region I am not sure I would choose to return but certainly wouldn't object to accompanying a friend if they were particularly keen to visit.

This is good food fast, went in for a flying lunch with some friends and was very surprised at how good it was, and very well priced.

There is a special lunch menu, which represents amazing value, i had some vietnamesse spring rolls ans samosa things, whatever they were they were lovely as were the prawn and thai crackers. The curry that i had which was a green thai kind of curry was absolutely beautiful, the best i have had, i could not recommend it enough!

My friends also had beautiful meals, everyone was so pleased with all of the food that they had ordered, the drinks menu was also refreshing and unique. I had a traditional malaysian coffee which was great.

Considering how busy it was the service we recieved was also superb, i would suggest that tampopo is easily as good as wagamamas if not a little better!

Next time you go to cabot, go here for lunch, you wont be dissapointed!!

Pretty soon we must reach critical mass in terms of pan-asian restaurants. Wagamama's, Teoh's, Budokan and now Tampopo. On the evidence of this visit, Tampopo is the pick of the bunch.

The menu gives plenty of choice from a range of asian cuisines and includes stuff not always seen elsewhere, especially Vietnamese. Which is what my partner and I chose - chicken pho.

Great, fresh flavours - mint, star anise, coriander and a lovely broth. A good portion served in a big bowl where the consituent parts are kept separate so you can create each mouthful as you go, or mix it all up and tuck in. Refreshing, tasty and filling. Definitely something I'd have again.

Its an inviting place to look into, mocked up some old japanese noodle restaurant. Inside it's comfortable and some tables afford privacy to couples, and there's also bigger tables for groups. If you're going out for this type of food, you could do a lot worse than eat here.

I went to Tampopo in Cabot Circus shortly after it had opened for a leaving do with 7 others. It's much like Wagamamas serving a wide range of Asian dishes - dishes served quickly and catering for large groups effectively with its large tables with benches to sit on. Each dish is credited to its origin country, so you can choose a dish from most East Asian countries - from Singapore Noodles to Panang Curry from Thailand or Yaki Udon noodles from Japan. I enjoyed my Singapore Noodles a lot but couldn't help but be jealous of the huge 'soup noodle' dishes being served and the exciting looking curries. There should be something for everyone here and I would definitely go back to work my way round the menu!

Really not a fan of Wagamama's, but loved this place. Service was very fast and food was excellent. Perfect for stopping for a quick munch inbetween shopping!

The food was fresh and very very tasty. Our children enjoyed the kids menu too. Watch out for the chili ratings though as a beef salad at 2 chilis was very hot. Service was excellent and very fast. Will def. go back.

Popped in mid-week for lunch with my husband and daughter, very good service, food came out quick and hot, very tasty and fresh. Would definately go back and try other things on the menu. Not many customers in at the time so that is why service was so good ( in fact we hardly finished our starter and they were dishing up main!)

This new Pan-Asian restaurant is perfect for a shopping trip refuel or a quick bite to eat before the cinema. Service was very fast and the food was piping hot and very tasty. Definitely a good alternative to Budokan.

I stopped in for lunch with a friend mid-shop. we had to wait a while to be seated but that was okay and generally a good sign. The service was not as attentive as I would like - having to catch the waiters eye to get orders taken but the food was really good, hot, fresh and tasty. Wine was good. I will definately be going back to try some different menu choices.
