What we say

Having inaugurated their pan-Asian offering in St Agnes, Teoh and his wife Sue have set up their second branch in Bedminster. It's a casual, communal dining experience sat at long wooden benches and great value for money. Whilst the original St Agnes site is small, homely and cheerful, the Tobacco Factory site is vast and slightly clinical. Fresh ingredients and more than 50% of the menu is available as vegetarian. The thirty or more dishes offer a rapid tour of Asian cuisine with Thai, Japanese, Chinese and Malaysian classics to choose from. You can buy the ingredients next door to the St Agnes restaurant and, before you take them home and use them, why not attend one of the regular Teohs cookery courses?

I have been going to Teohs since it first opened and have always had an enjoyable experience, it is cheap and cheerful, friendly service, delicious food and a buzzing atmosphere.

I have been with my husband and three children at the 6pm sitting, they are very child friendly and also been many times with friends and family. We recently went for a Christmas night out with a large group of friends and booked the party menu, everyone had loads to eat including the vegetarian and it was a great night had by all!

Teoh's is one of those 'can't be arsed to cook tonight' places - you can pop out and get fed quickly and cheaply. Great spicy prawn crackers. Hate the plastic measuring jugs they use for tap water - surely you could find something just as cheap but slightly better looking? Don't expect a lingering romantic meal - you'll be in and out before you know it...but that's the point. Although it manages to be cheap because it dishes out the same old stuff day in, day out, it would be nice to have the occasional special to add a bit of interest. That menu hasn't been changed in 8 years and it gets boring.

A kid friendly venue, with the opportunity to choose from Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese all on the same sitting and it's good to watch the chef's in action just behind the dining area. Good crispy duck, thai fish cakes and a thai prawn curry, we ordered a number of dishes and shared them between us. It's quite hot though near to the kitchen and the service can be slow when it's busy so be warned. Otherwise, definitely worth the money.

I eat here often as the food is fresh, tasty, unfussy and such good value.

This i would have to say is the best value for money restarant in Bristol.

Last time I went, I had 5 courses beers, and wine for £25. Great Value !

Teohs offers a no frills dining experience with good food at reasonable prices. I had crispy duck as a starter between 2 of us which was delicious followed by an Indonesian Rice dish called Nasi Goreng which was very spicy but also delicious. You cannot book a table, but you can book a 'sitting' e.g. 7.30pm, 9.30pm etc. We went for the 9.30pm sitting. The kitchen shuts promptly at 10pm which is rather early in such a cosmopolitan area as Southville. The service was rather slow, I thought, even though it wasn't all that busy. It's not a place for an intimate romantic meal with your partner as you're likely to be more intimate with the stranger sitting next to you and it can be very noisy. It's more a fun place to eat out with a group of friends and also has lots of regular customers.
