What we say

Only three miles from the Bath city centre, The Boathouse is a stunningly elegant building set on the banks of the Avon. You can enjoy the views from the white-railed balconies or get closer to nature by sitting in the extensive gardens. Very popular with families, especially in the summer, there is also a children's playground which finds a lot of favour amongst the smaller members. Inside, the interior is open plan and modern. Food is basically British, game pie and Welsh lamb, for example and there is the compulsory Sunday carvery as well. Every thing is kept on track by the exceptionally friendly staff and owners.

I had lunch in this pub as I have done on a few occaisions before.

The Boat House is a typical large pub with a range of beers and a good menu.

I had the gammon steak and it came with both eggs and pineapple, it was a good size portion and the chips and extras were nice too.

It would have been better had the mustard and other condiments been not out of sachets but it is a pub not a restaurant.

I wouldn't go there for an evening meal but as a lunchtime stopover it is well worth a visit.

What I ate: Gammon steak and chips.
