Set half way between Bristol and Bath, close to the local golf club and only five minutes walk from the river Avon, this family-friendly pub, the oldest building in Saltford, registered its first licensee in 1765. The white-washed exterior gives way to a refurbished interior which cleverly integrates the traditional nooks and crannies and open fire setting of the archetypical English pub with a modern pastel decoration scheme. The food is traditional too and there is plenty of space for dining, either in the restaurant area or around the bar or, in good weather al fresco in the extensive beer garden.
Relaxed during the week, at weekends it gets livelier as the bouncy castle, the skittle alley (the pub boasts the oldest in-house skittle league in Britain) and the giant sports screen cast their respective spells on their various devotees.

Great atmosphere hits you straight away. Busy and bustling with all types of crowd in the restaurant area, bar side was much quieter. Family friendly which I know is a must for some. Great extensive menu and really cheap prices, offers such as two for £8 which i find amazing for quality food! My friend had fish and chips which looked as good as any real chip shop. Cheap and cheerful, you can't go wrong.
