What we say

The traditional pub snooker table, stuck in a dark corner, one rickety leg, gobbling up 20p pieces until you're booted off by the locals, is now truly a thing of the past, elbowed out of the way by this American-inspired pool experience.

Set in busy Park Street, The Elbow Room is a fairly new concept in the UK but already expanding quickly. Stylish, roomy (the windows are removed in summer to give even more breathing space) and sophisticated, this is a drinkers and players delight. Live music, tasty cocktails and a reasonable menu add to the fun. But the main point is the pool, and the management keep finding new twists on the theme. Any one for bar ping pong or speed dating with balls?
