Over the last 18 months, The Greenhouse Restaurant has been getting some superb reviews in the press as well as local word-of-mouth, with the Community Times stating that they provide the "Best Sunday Lunch in South Wales".
The restaurant sits within the Best Western Aberavon Beach Hotel, a modern building ideally situated on Aberavon sea front, adjacent to two miles of promenade as well as the wide sandy beach, and with views across Swansea Bay to the Gower Peninsula. The restaurant benefits from this view, which enhances an already light, comfortable and elegant room.
The menu is surprisingly well priced, considering the reputation of the restaurant and its service, and features imaginative, well-presented dishes, made from largely local Welsh produce. Why not try the homemade soup to start, which you can tell from the taste is always made fresh, from top-quality ingredients, or perhaps salmon terrine with lemon dressing. Mains range from the flavoursome grilled cod with lemon beurre noisette, to the more traditional roast sirloin of beef, or butterfly loin of pork.
A carefully-chosen wine list, which the staff will be happy to help you choose from, is the perfect complement to the menu, and any meal can be finished perfectly with one of the delicious desserts – so good you won't want to share. Choose chilled raspberry Pavlova on a warm summer evening, or warm apple lattice pie for an icy winter night.

Myself, my husband and the children all stopped here while visiting relatives in Swansea. The service was better than expected, fast and polite. The view is beautiful and was a talking point throughout our delicious meal. The food was better than my gran used to cook and that's saying something! Everything was just right and we all finished everything on our plates. I will be making sure we make it a regular stop off when we are visiting people in that area.
