Like the other members of the Bath Ales managed pub estate, The Hare on the Hill reflects the values of its owners, who look for character, location and potential in their establishments. Only Fairtrade coffee is served, bottled water is acquired from a local charity which provides third world water aid, ingredients are sourced from within a 40-mile radius and recycling is a way of life.
The Hare on the Hill is a boozer like all boozers used to be: wooden floors and seating, traditional pub games, staff who show an interest. Renowned for its range of European beers and malt whiskies, its food is nothing fancy (asparagus pasta, chicken curry) but does the job. There are lots of theme nights (quiz, silent movie, curry, live music) and the traditional steam-driven big screen for those important sporting moments. If you're wandering the back streets of Bristol and can't find it immediately, look out for the authentic green-tiled frontage. It's out there somewhere.
