The exterior of dressed Bath stone, hinting at a traditional Edwardian pub, gives way to an interior world of stylish and contemporary leather, wood and subdued lighting. Downstairs the bar serves a good range of cocktails, wines and beers but, upstairs, it's easy to sum up the chic restaurant in one word; meat. The supply of grass-fed beef comes from a farm-assured co-operative in Staffordshire, is dry-aged by a local butcher, and is served in special ways, including as a gourmet burger. You don't have to like meat (there's seafood a-plenty, for instance, and vegetarian dishes) but it sure does help.

If you love good steaks this place is where to go. The steaks melt in your mouth and are cooked to perfection. Highly recommended
