had a really lovely meal there. the beetroot ravioli were absolutely delicious and the crispy duck pancakes very scrumptious.

loved the pianist playing in the background while dining and the service was excellent as well.

all in all a restaurant, which I will tell my friends about as a good place to for diner!

I only discovered the Living Room by looking at this site so I thought I would review the same way!

We went down to the harbourside not knowing what to expect (it's def not our normal haunt) and found a hidden gem!

The place is beautifully done and the staff and service really were excellent. The place was busy and buzzing and I have to say we thoroughly enjoyed our night out. We had a small wait for our starters but everything else went smoothly so I can most definitely recommend the Living Room to anyone reading!

Been here few times for drinks and i love the Piano player and always looked at the menu and thought it looked interesting!

First thing is if you are thinking of taking your significant other to this restaurant on a weekend you have to take in to account the noise that comes from the bar, you can forget having any kind of conversation unless you are seated away from that area.

Food was ok but for the money you would expect that what i didn't like was all the extras you have to pay for, Pots, veg, salad etc all at around £3 makes a big difference. I had venison loin and for the first time in my life it was tough as a boot, seemed to be cooked ok but not great quality, which is a shame as i adore Venison.

Service was good, attentive staff and greeted with a warm welcome so that was a big plus!

I can see why people like it but i can also see why some more traditional diner would dislike it, You are not going to get people come here for the food more the surroundings i think.

Myself and 3 friends arrived at The Living Room to see it bustling with people which was great on a Tuesday Night! We were greeted warmly and felt welcome and happily sat in the bar supping cocktails for 15mins waiting for a table to become available. It was worth it! The food is simple but done really well - my girlfriend had fish and chips and I had belly pork which was crackly and fantastic. Our waiter was really friendly and nothing seemed too much of a bother and it was all done in a really genuine way.

We've been raving about it ever since and my friends are the same - a really enjoyable night in a world where so often something lets you down when you dine out.

    Thankyou Living Room.

We went on a friday lunchtime, had a 50% off food voucher to use as well. Staff very pleasant and polite, well informed, whisked us to our table and were very attentive. We ordered salads, me the salmon one and him the sticky beef. Unfrotunately the salad was great, but the salmon was extremely salty and the beef very chewy. The waiter was so pleasant I couldn't bring myself to tell him! Maybe I got an off day, or maybe avoid the salads, but if you want good service, definitely come here. Also the toilets are v. posh!

i was lucky to be taken for dinner here. the ambience was buzzy but not overpowering and surprisingly full for a thursday evening. after having an interesting and tasty coffee martini (my first ever) near the bar we were shown to our table and served by a charming and friendly waitress from paris who enthused about england (nice for a change!). the menu was varied and international, ranging from risotto to thai curry to burgers. We had the 'starters to share' including edamame beans which the others quite liked to their surprise (the pods were a bit tough!!!).(but then we found that one's not supposed to eat them!) my main course was the scottish fish pie which was delicious and large. (so large, in fact, that i was hoping to take enough for another portion home, but due to an unfortunate accident...) anyway the complimentary coconut rice pud with strawberry compote did much to compensate. we also shared a nice bottle of chenin blanc. prices are not near the low side, but we had a voucher which gave us a sizeable discount. all in all, a lovely evening.

I have visited the Living Room on numerous occasions and the food is always of a high standard with service attentive and swift. Food is presented beautifully and there is a hint of the unexpected, like the fish and chips which come complete with newspaper (and are scrummy might I add!) I once had pears which were cooked in sauce in a paper bag and thats the way it came in the bag ready for me to fight open. For food of generous portion, unique presentation and yummy taste, this is the place!

My husband took me to the Living room for a birthday meal. We arrived quite early and sat at the bar and had a few drinks, it was a busy night with quite a few big groups but it was a nice atmosphere. We were then shown to our table, we were tucked away in the corner which was quite nice, but I must say it was a bit cold we were right by the window and it was drafty (but then i do feel the cold easily). the starters were good I had Thai fishcakes but nothing out of the ordinary. We then had a Rump steak to share which was nice but again nothing special, it was basically just 2 steaks on a plate and a few extras. We ordered some extra brocolli which did not arrive although when we pointed this out it was bought to us. The brocolli had to be sent back it tasted awful, with a hint of chemicals dont know if it had been nuked in the microwave but it certainly tasted like it. We opted out of puddings. All in all it was an average meal but quite expensive for 2 the bill came to £100, which is the same price we paid for a meal at Jamie Olivers 15.... Not sure if I''ll return probably just for the atmosphere, nothing really special though. Oh and there was a guy singing jazzy stuff which was quite nice.

I didn't really know what to expect when we went for a meal at The Living Room. The place is huge and because it is also a bar I thought it was going to be very noisy, which suprisingly it wasn't. We were very well looked after and got seated within minutes of arriving. The staff were attentive and driks were filled in a timely manner and food was brought very quickly.

The food was the best I have eaten in a restaurant for months and despite The Living Room having recently opened, neither the food or service was lacking.

I am looking forward to going back in the near future!

I also went with 6 friends on one of the opening nights... and had a lovely evening. The food was quick to arrive, and very tasty... some of the starters, such as my portobello mushroom one drenched in hollandaise sauce was not exactly outstanding, but nice nonetheless.

I have to give praise for my main though... the smoked haddock risotto with asparagus, parmesan and poached egg is a good enough reason for wanting to go back... that and the dyson handryers in the in the very posh loos!!!! Seriously, you'll see what I mean....dry hands seriously quickly!!!!

My desert, the unexpected 'Banoffee in a Bag' was interesting too. Bananas in a toffee sauce in a bag, served with biscuits and ice cream... "the smell comes in your face" when you open your bag apparently, well that's what our lovely waitress told us :o

It was very nice, but by that point I was well and truly stuffed....

My only real quibble was that the live music they had on would have suited a 50's American diner rather than the classy and contemporary feel of the place.

Advice: Great place for a date!

Me and six friends went to The Living Room for one of the opening nights and had a thoroughly enjoying evening. Everything from the food, to the cocktails, to the service to the venue was great and was certainly one of the most enjoyable evenings I have had in a while.

With regards to the food, we started with a sharing platter, which was made up of a mixture of tapas and then for starters I had battered king prawns with sweet chilli and wasabi. For my main, I indulged in Duck and pancakes and for my dessert, I had a thoroughly enjoyable Eton Mess. We ended the evening with a brilliant Amaretto Sour and of course had several bottles of wine with the meal.

As mentioned at the beginning of my meal, the service was exceptional (although you would expect this in the opening week) The waitress was knowledgable and certainly gave us lots of suggestions.

The venue is quite large and is well decorated. Whether you want a drink with friends or a meal, I would certainly recommend The Living Room. It is also far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the Waterfront bars.

What will happen in the next few weeks will obviously define what will happen to the venue and what crowd will frequent the place but I will certainly be back to check.....
