What we say

This magnificent Victorian building is set in the heart of civic Bristol, looking out over College Green and the Cathedral. The elegant Palm Court restaurant boasts an original Victorian stained glass roof which pours light onto the twinkling chandeliers and silver place settings. The fine dining experience is achieved with local produce adjusted with the seasons. For something a little more informal, try the adjacent Terrace Restaurant.

Took my better half here on Tuesday evening, it was our first time here and it did not disappoint.

The room itself is stunning, tripple height (but a nice temperature) with stone and statues and (of cource) palms.

The staff are very attentive and the menu is appetising and varied. It is not cheap but not more that you'd pay in Hotel Du Vin or other like restaurants.

The food was excellent, I had Caramelised Onion Soup, Slow cooked belly of Pork followed by a Chocolate Cherry-Bomb. The soup was rich and just what you'd expect from a top chef, the pork had been cooked perfectly, the fat had rendered down to a point that the meat was very tender. The sauce that it arrived with was great too.

The pub topped off a great night.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who fancies something a bit special.

We'd never been in here before, as we thought it was for hotel residents only! It wasn't, there seemed to be quite a few people not staying there eating in the restaurant... The food was superb, and really good prices too! The staff could not have been more pleasant. The restaurant was quite busy so that atmosphere was great. It's such a beautiful place to eat - we will definitely be going back again soon. The Wine menu was very good also, with a range that suited everyone.
