What we say

In 1994 Moles, the live music and dining club, burrowed next door and took over The Porter, transforming it gradually from a traditional, rather sombre pub into a buzzy meeting place and watering hole for trendy students and others of a chaotic nature. Upstairs is the main bar where the sophisticated sound system makes a powerful case for the usefulness of sign language, but there is also a quieter space for those who prefer live conversation. Downstairs, a warren of disused cellars has been turned in to the Cellar Bar, a venue in its own right, offering free live music, Monday-Thursday, and DJs on Friday-Saturday. There is no day of rest because on Sundays it transmutes into the Comedy Cavern. The cheap and cheerful menu is entirely vegetarian (including all day breakfasts and a Sunday roast) and, unusually for a pub in the area, food is served up to 9pm.

If you like hearty, veggie pub grub made pretty fresh you want to try here, we always go when we are out and about in town as most of the tourist get put off by the slightly shabby Veggie chicness, we love it, gives us a great spot to view the true Bath locals who don't give a damn about how they look just wear everything they like at once regardless!!
