What we say

The Portland Restaurant at The Portland Hotel has built up a reputation as a quality restaurant for residents and non-residents.

Open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch & dinner, the restaurant offers a wide selection of freshly prepared English and Continental dishes.

You will always enjoy an inexpensive quality meal in elegant surroundings, and quality wines from the cellar.

From a range of very tempting dishes, start, for example, with the popular brie & Parma ham parcels, lightly grilled and dressed in vinaigrette, followed with salmon fillet, poached in white wine and masked in a lobster bisque. Then choose from a wide selection of puddings from £3.75.

The food was very basic, only carrots and peas for veg. Not many choices on the menu. The hotel looked great outside but inside the restaurant there was a great big hole in the ceiling and also in the corridors. The staff were helpful but they obviously needed much more training. No ambiance, very bright inside restaurant. Would never visit again. Most pubs provide better food. Not good value
