Monday is The Last Night of The Proms every week at this bar and café set on the busy Gloucester Road because Tuesdays are the only nights when live music isn't playing (its replaced by the longest-running pop quiz in Bristol). There's lots of stylish space inside (including some secluded seating for those who want to listen to each other rather than the music) and, unusually for the area, there is a large outside seating area as well, perfect for lazy al fresco dining and for watching the locals going about their business. The food is modern English and is freshly prepared from locally sourced ingredients but includes the occasional twist, like the Manhattan Breakfast for the serious carnivore, and the panini board; Prom burgers and the Prom Sunday Roast are also great favourites.
The vibrant variety of music, including rock, country, roots, blues and reggae, are performed by national and international bands; local musical artists are encouraged and you can jam along yourself at the Sunday acoustic sessions.
