Slightly off the beaten track, essentially a house converted to a pub, The Richmond Arms is rapidly gaining a reputation for its excellent food. I don't normally have much time for your gastro type pub but the Richmond retains enough of the character of a pub to make it work. The staff are always very friendly and know what they're doing. The food's superb, the menus are imaginative and drawn up every week, the food is lovingly prepared and expertly cooked. Great place to take friends for a meal and the Sunday lunch is up there with the best I've had. The real ale is decent and well kept but I can never seem to resist the draft San Miguel long enough to try it properly.

Not cheap but worth it. It's fair to say it's more of an eating than a drinking pub though.
