Like the other members of the Bath Ales managed pub estate, The Swan Inn reflects the values of its owners, who look for character, location and potential in their establishments. Only Fairtrade coffee is served, bottled water is acquired from a local charity which provides third world water aid, ingredients are sourced from within a 40-mile radius and recycling is a way of life.
The Swan Inn is country pub, but right on the main Bristol to Bath road, so the outside benches may not suit everyone. The premises, converted out of half a row of six cottages dating back to the seventeenth century, have been carefully refurbished. The main bar boasts a wood and leather construction and the roaring log fire adds to the cosy glow in cold weather. The menu is traditional English and changes with the seasons. The friendly staff complete the picture of this understated, classy but not pretentious venue.
