Like the other members of the Bath Ales managed pub estate, The Wellington reflects the values of its owners, who look for character, location and potential in their establishments. Only Fairtrade coffee is served, bottled water is acquired from a local charity which provides third world water aid, ingredients are sourced from within a 40-mile radius and recycling is a way of life.
The Wellington is a large brick built, roadside building, now decorated inside in black and terracotta, conveniently situated for the town's major sporting venues and consequently popular with fans. The brasserie menu is inexpensive and delicious (try the ciabatta with steak and red onion marmalade). A large garden plays host to an annual music festival and there is live music on Sundays. With not a juke box, fruit machine or pool table in sight, you don't have to be a sports fan to enjoy it.
