What we say

Tikka Flame is about as far removed from your traditional curry house as it's possible to get. Set in the busy redeveloped dockside complex, it's all glass exterior, cool colours and contemporary design. Bollywood music and large screens playing Bollywood music videos set the atmosphere, while aromas of eastern promise emanate from the huge open-plan kitchen: tandoori is a speciality. The service is impeccable and the whole dining sensation reflects the high standards of the experienced owners. This is modern India with a vengeance and it just goes to show how cool a Flame can be.

Went in with a few friends for dinner. It was fairly busy, so we had to wait 30mins for a table, which we didnt mind. We sat down, it took 15mins before someone offered us drinks. When we placed an order, the waiter said the food will be 25mins, we were prepared to wait. It took 45mins for us to get starters, then another 40mins to get the main course. When the food came, it was below par. 1 hour and 20mins of waiting time is not acceptable. Understaffed bigtime, and the reason they gave me was 'we usually dont take walk ins on busy nights' The waitress offered 2 free desserts, when there was 4 of us. Not recomendable!

I went there with my partner for Valentines and I'm definatelly going back again.

The food was amazing! The workers were okay. One got confused because he didnt know what a Cosmopolition was! But apart from that, it was excellent.

We were in and out within an hour and a half and that was with drinks, starter and a main.

    I definatelly recommend this!

I have to say I was astounded by the service in this place. Never have I been treated so poorly by restaurant staff. They all looked as though they would rather be anywhere else in the world (or that the diners were anyway!).

We were seated reasonably quickly (without a word of welcome) and left for a good 20 minutes before having to call someone over to order a drink. Upon ordering food, I was bluntly told that my choice of dish was "not available" (which I would not hold against them, but no apology was made) and we were sniffed at for deciding against the pickle tray on offer. I can't really complain about the food too much, as it seemed to be cooked fairly well but the meat was slightly over-done and had started to dry. This is likely to be a result of it being kept warm after cooking while waiting for the waiters to finish picking their noses!

Please please do not pay attention to the last review, it is wrong wrong wrong!

Indian cuisine is without doubt me and my partners favourite cuisine, i have eaten in over 100 indians all over the country, and Tikka Flame is without doubt one of the finest i have ever had the pleasure of eating in! i have been back again and again!

No this is not a 'traditional' british curry house, but that is a good thing, it is so much better! The ambience and surroundings are sublime, the screens playing bollywood films are a great touch, all the colours and authentic music set the mood perfectly.

Then there is the good stuff...the food! For starter you must must have the mixed platter, it is the greatest starter you will ever eat....i promise! The choice of mains are great, some traditional dishes mixed with some beautiful unique specialities, i have eaten too many dishes to reccommend one, but everone that i have had has been beautiful, also the rice is the finest i have ever eaten, the peshwari rice is an absolute must!!

The only slight dissapointment was the limited choices of desserts, however i reccommend ordering the jug of mando lassi, it is gorgeous and provides a great finish to the meal!

Tikka flame stands head and shoulders above the other bristol indians that i have eaten in such as Old India, Oh Calcutta, Raj poot etc.

If you have not been to this go, go now! No review could do this Restaurant justice, you have to eat there to understand just how good it is!!

Had a decent enough meal here and didn't end up being as expensive as I thought it would be (despite it being city centre in the Harbourside complex). Had a telly playing Bollywood which drove me mad as it entices your eye away from your fellow diners - ban all tellies in restaurants!! (Same goes for Bibas) All in all was fine but have so much choice in Bristol doubt I'll return, nothing special.
